Considering posting FT Pulpit Rock BA Cake Walk + BA Rechoncho , ISO VR + another BC variant. Would 15 Rare be too far out of line? Or more realistic to ask for Backyard Rye or a prop vintage? Thanks in advance!

 

Maplefoam has been going for BAA/Summagick/B2K level, maybe with a + on the maplefoam side. Cali Cotton is maybe half that, but you might be able to package both of them together for something in the range of MooreRareScooop or Handjee. Pips is ridiculously hot right now, it seems like mead is the next big thing.

 

Appreciate the response. I'd move the set together for the right bottle. Thoughts on if we're in BA Coco Vibes or Maman territory?

 

No problem. Unfortunately I don't have the bottles you're into or I would be interested in working something out, I love Pips. I think BA Coco Vibes would would require another plus on your side in addition to the two bottles, and you could probably get Maman 18 for Meadowfoam and a pretty solid plus.

I just closed 1:1 with maltvin. Havn't shipped yet though.

 

Are people just estimating the bottle count / making assumptions, or is there a credible source to the numbers? I haven't seen bottle counts mentioned anywhere.

 

To be fair, they are two different beers and are not regular releases (each has only been released to public to go one time)—despite what was said. And, I was not commenting about value of Ann.

Regarding BBT2 being unimpressive and not complex, I just laugh. I have had most of what was tossed out there, and I simply do not agree, but that said, we all have different tastes. By his definition SoD, SR-71, and many other widely heralded bourbon forward big chewy BA stouts are only ‘meh’. Just don’t like it when people say stuff like it is a fact when the large majority of people see it completely otherwise.

Like you, there is nothing you could offer me 1:1 to make me trade a BBT2. Nothing.

 

When I spoke with staff (albeit, about two years ago) at HF, he made it seem like they will never release bottle counts.

 

It is an actual fact, that it is my opinion.

Sitting at SP enjoying a Tete and Derivation, finding the (undeservedly less respected) D10 to be thicker and much less boozy than my experiences with BBT, and yes I recognize it has adjuncts but still it's more enjoyable. At the same time, I'm not putting it at quite the same tier as the others I mentioned above.

 

You would be able to ask for a pretty solid + on their side if you offer Maplefoam.

 

I appreciate the feedback on this. I’m undecided on how I’ll go forward with the Ann. I do prefer a stout over any other style, and figured I have a chance to trade for and try something really well made and complex. Even something with adjuncts that’s on the sweeter side I typically enjoy.

From what I’ve read from other’s reviews, the b2 of BBT was a much different beer than b1. Same as b1 of SR-71 over b2. However, I have to base this off the reviews of others as I’ve had neither. I was just trying to get an idea of where Ann trades, and I guess I didn’t realize, either, how lucky I am that I’m able to buy it and take it home.

D10 is not high on my list of favorite Side Project stouts, but I completely agree the rum and coffee bring the booziness down on it. It is the fudgy big chocolaty thick batter like quality that draws me. Lay the bourbon on and I am in heaven. We may just have slightly different tastes.

Cantillon Carignan. I’ve seen several ISOs in the past month but I haven’t even considered looking for it cause I’ve been under the impression that it’s an extremely limited Cantillon bottle that’s never seen a public release and is totally unobtainable. Any release info, completed trades, or expectations of what it would take to land in terms of lambic and/or SARA (cause that’s what I have) would be appreciated.

Are you asking since there is this exact offer on the boards and you have a Damon, but not sure if you want to do it 1:1?

I mean, seems pretty straightforward IMO that it could be/should be 1:1. Damon was 3 pp at $28. Maltvin was 2pp? at ? I'd treat it as such. If I had a Maltvin/Damon vice versa and someone had the same it seems like an easy swap for both parties.

Then again, I don't dabble in secondary, etc.
