I don't blame the stores at all. It's not Founders fault that they are popular, but it is their fault that they spread themselves so thinly. Their limited releases at this point are just cockteases - I'd rather they just not send them to the state so I don't have to worry about false hope. And it's not just KBS - I didn't even find any Backwoods Bastard this year either, which is a release I love and never had a problem with in the past. And let's not even talk about their large bottles...

That usually seems to be the case, but this year KBS hit the South Shore on the same day (Yesterday) as Boston.

Seriously - what is your purpose? If it's to troll it's not welcome. If it's so you can try to keep it hidden then you shouldn't have said anything in the first place. I don't even care because I'm certainly not heading to Vermont (or wherever) to pickup some KBS, but I'm sure there are people who live up that way that would love to know where you are talking about.

I posted my earlier post just to show the difference between mass and vermont, in terms of demand and allotment. And founders is no dummy, by not releasing a lot to mass, they know the demand only grows exponentially.

If you are in vermont, you should easily be able to obtain kbs.

You're still not explaining why you won't state the store. That's not cool.

And the last thing Founders needs right now is more KBS demand. They could produce 10x the amount and easily sell out instantly these days. The only thing they are doing by shortchanging MA is pissing off previously loyal stores and customers.

Vermonter here: scored 6 bottles easily.

I'm not entirely sure what the deal is with the allocations this year, but I believe I saw Founders say that they were increasing production next year, so here's hoping.

I wont say the store because i told them i wouldnt. I did my share of home/legwork hunting kbs down. Because im a nice guy, i will say that if someone from VT wants a store or 4 to get kbs, bm me.

Ha, i hear ya. But in this situation, like many others, its prob cause they are saving it for themselves or friends to buy.

just picked up some more at lunchtime
They've got more, but say it's all accounted for--they're getting 80 calls a day.
I got the managers name and on my way home tonight I will talk to him to see if I can score some of this "allocated" stuff. I told the guy I spoke to that if someone really wanted this stuff, they'd already be there to pick it up.

Obviously this whole allotment thing based on sales is a lie. Founders has only been selling in Vermont for what, 3 months, and stores are getting multiple cases there? Obviously these stores in Vermont aren't selling much Founders if people are able to get several bottles with no problem. Meanwhile stores in Mass that have been selling Founders for years in huge quantities either get nothing or a couple scraps.

In the past 2 years I have not seen a bottle of KBS or any of their big bottle releases. As far as I know they are myths created on the internet. Even the imperial stout is hard to find when it comes out and then its gone from shelves after 2 days, not to return again for another year.
Why are they expanding to other states when they can't even come close to keeping their existing loyal customers happy?

I am baffled at how fired up people get at Founder's for not allocating more beer to their state/distributor/store/whatever. Since when is Founder's, or any other company for that matter, required to make it convenient for you to buy their stuff? Would it make business sense for them to do so? Absolutely. But I don't think they are having a problem selling their beer!

Does it suck that you can't get your hands on it, yes! But it should be more of a disappointment than a situation where you start blaming and complaining.

It's more like "don't go posting on BA that you got it here so we don't have a hundred people showing up from all over only to be disappointed that we already sold the two or three cases that we were able to get"

I don't see the problem here. Plenty of people have illustrated their reasons why they are frustrated with Founders and their limited releases for years now. Too little to too many places. Either get more to the state or don't send any - tossing a few crumbs into a sea of hungry pigeons just creates more problems than it solves. No, Founders has no problem selling beers at the moment, and particularly limited releases, but they're expanding rapidly, and at some point they're going to need their loyal customers to keep their business booming with their year-round offerings. I'm positive I have spent more money on Founders for years now than most people that end up with KBS/CBS, yet the stores I frequent end up with allotments like a single 4-pack of KBS and 2 bottles of CBS (or nothing) - meanwhile stores in Vermont that just starting selling Founder's are getting multiple cases? That's a slap in the face IMO.

I don't forget these things next time I'm looking at the 6-pack of Founder's Porter sitting next to the 6-pack of Mayflower Porter.

Haha, I don't understand why a store cares some much to stop selling Founders if they don't get KBS, CBS or whatever. They are there to sell beer. If they are selling a crap load of Founders then good for them. Keep selling a crap load of Founders and make more money. They don't make any money selling a couple cases of KBS.

I'd rather have 1 bottle of KBS than none at all.

Have confirmed this from multiple sources, the South Shore had next to nothing (2 Cases) large stores like Luke's in Rockland only received 4 Bottles total.

This is similar to trying to find CBS during that release. Last year ended up with 8 bottles of KBS without a massive effort, this year I'd consider myself lucky to get a 2nd bottle to cellar.

Looks like stores closer to Boston were the ones getting 1 or 2 cases.

I doubt that there will be much around available to find after today.

Except most people get zero bottles. And it has nothing to do with effort anymore.
