Any of the folks here in the nW forum sign up for the new BA society? I'm waffling on signing up, the only thing that interests me is the more involved personal stats, but I'm not sure that's enough to drive me to join.
I sent BA some money ($20 IIRC) last August. I don't remember the term "Society", but that's what now shows by my name, so I guess I joined. My motivation was just to give the brothers a few bucks in recognition of a website that I find quite worthwhile. $20 a year seems very little. I think the name changed to Society, but I haven't figured out what difference that makes. I'm just trying to give them a little support.
Likewise, I signed up more to support the site I visit most often than because of any features/benefits. I’m a beta tester for the app, but I rarely review beers on BA, so it’s more about the fame that status brings...
This was my thinking as well. What's $20/year to support a website that allows me to discuss beer, etc. without having to engage with actual people? A bargain at twice the price!
Looks like those are for BA users who haven't forked over money for the Society. Quite a good perk, now that I think about it. I've gotten used to not seeing those banner ads.
Got it because of my magazine subscription. Looking forward to beta testing the upcoming app and currently enjoy the access to the added stats. Not sure if I will keep it in the end but the no ads is very nice too. Long as it stays relatively cheap (isn't it $20 or so?) I will strongly consider it since I obviously use it pretty heavily.
I'd love to go to Oregon for our Society Gathering, but it looks like we'd need at least 60 more from the state to join in order to have a chance.
Joined tonight. Been with this site for 16 years now.In the past.bought the tee shirts and the magazine, worth $20 to support the Bros . Make sure it does not turn into a total cluster F like RB.
Joined earlier today. 12 years in, I've met a lot of cool people on here, and will do my bit to support this site.
