    -> Poll #20 <- determined that the flavor/aroma hops would be limited to American varieties. Rather than do a 3-segment poll with almost 30 hops and run the risk of still missing something someone wants, we'll take a ~48 hour pause and brainstorm what to include in the poll. In the Poll #20 posts, the following American hops were championed:

    Willamette
    Perle
    Chinook
    Crystal
    Centennial
    Comet
    CTZ
    Centennial
    Nugget
    Cascade

    Please use this thread to add any other American hops (or second any of the above) you would like to see in the poll, i.e. hops you would vote for. I will limit the poll to no more than 10 hops, based on which ones are/were championed by the most people in this thread and in the poll #20 posts. Thanks!

    I see Perle is in Vikeman's list, so it seems like we are considering US-grown versions of European hops. Northern Brewer is featured as early and middle additions in various incarnations of Janet's Brown Ale, and one I'd consider here. The version on the AHA site even specifies US Northern Brewer. Possibly due more to bias than actual impression, I've always thought it worked well with chocolate malts.

    Sterling, the American Saaz (on steroids). And Willamette, the American Fuggle (on sedatives).

    Sorry. Perle was supposed to have been deleted from that list, because it didn't meet the criteria in the poll. Same with Northern Brewer. My apologies for missing that.

    RE: Northern Brewer -- I'll live. I never used Galena before and see one of the hop sites suggesting it as a sub for NB. Does anyone think it might work in this batch?
