Serious question here. Is it a prerequisite for metal band pics to not smile. If you smile, does that mean your not metal? I smile sometimes, so I don’t think I would qualify. Asking for a friend.

 

You can smile in a metal band.

In fact, you can smile in THE heavy metal band.

METAL CARD REVOKED

 

I was checking the DLD site out of habit to realize that I’m wasting my time knowing that variants won’t be announced until a few days before the fest. I saw the pictures of the bands and it made me wonder if the Dark Lord stole their Easter baskets right before the photo.

Mine got skipped over because my basket didn’t have any variants.

 

Variants were announced this day in 2017

 

2018 was the first year they pushed it back to May I think, but who knows... maybe today is the day

 

Isn't one week out the usual standard for variant announcements? I wish they'd do one a day up until DLD to keep everyone frenzied...

Any homebrewers on here bringing anything?
I'm bringing a few things this year, an imperial coconut stout (in the style of the Samoa girlscout cookie), a dark saison brewed with hibiscus, magnolia pedals, rose hips, and chocolate, and a couple other thing; those are just the more out of the box ones.

I checked with Modern Times about events in Chicago and they said it’s a no go for this year. Apparently the state wholesale laws make too more difficult in IL. That is really a bummer, especially since so many other breweries do stuff here for Mikerphone and Half Acre events (although those are in Illinois so it could be easier with the event in the same state).
