The only recommendation I have in addition to what @vurt has listed above is Arch Rock's very fine Gold Beach Lager. On your way out of town on Hwy 26, stop off at the Market of Choice on Barnes Road for a crowler for a princely $8, or a whole growler full for $11.

I liked Stickmans Tualatin location better..in an industrial area..and the pub goes along with that..they serve great Naplolitan styler woodfired pizza

Sadly never been impressed with Pfriem's pilsner..compared to their other styles i think its a near miss

All of Zoiglhaus's beers are really good as well. Their Pilsner in particular is one of my favorites and is basically my house beer

I just want to say, it's super refreshing to have someone come in here asking about where they can find local lagers instead of which Great Notion releases will be available when they're here.

thanks for all the good rec’s prior.
    n00b moment / question-
Ale Apothecary has beers on my wants for almost a decade now. Do bottles make it anywhere for purchase around here?
a friend from Seattle says they don’t distribute but that their stuff makes it to some specialty places. I assumed it was only in Bend. Guess the Oakshire taproom is still yet to be.
May need to rent a car after all...

We get the occasional bottle drop up here in Bellingham, so I have no doubt bottles hit PDX. Now, will there be any around when you visit? No clue, but check out the better bottle shops.

AA beers see pretty decent distribution these days. Last time I was at Belmont Station, they had a particularly good supply of AA bottles. You can find their beers elsewhere, but to be on the safe side, I would go there.

As you probably know, while their beers are quite good, they're also kind of spendy. So they don't tend to fly off the shelf. You shouldn't have any problems finding AA beers during your stay in pdx. Have fun.

Bottles of Ale Apoth. are plentiful around Portland. I regularly see them at Market of Choice and most of the good bottle shops (belmont, johns)

I just saw bottles at the local "specialty beer store" here and prices were in the $30-37 range.

Good news for availability. Given that I likely wont be back here anytime soon, and they've been a longstanding want, I'll probably pick up 1 for sipping if I make it out to a forest/mountain/beach and another for home. I'll be sure to chuck the bottle in whatever beautiful natural resource I end up sippin at.

If you are still looking for heater allen, check World Market in the pearl. It is a premium grocery store with a great wine and beer selection. They had 4-5 different cans including the aforementioned Belmont Station/Wayfinder collab.

    That's pretty standard for AA.

Got a friend going to Portland for a graduation

I didn’t notice any mention of sours/bretts/wild ales beyond Cascade. Is there anything that I should ask to be brought back in that group. I can get my hands on a large-enough selection of Cascade locally.

Upright, pFriem, and Little Beast make great sours/bretts/wild ales that are easy to find in bottles around Portland.

I’m visiting next weekend and haven’t been for a few years - I hit up HotD, Cascade, and Upright last time and was wondering what people thought were some “can’t miss” of the other breweries up there. I’ll have my teenage son, so will only have a chance to visit a couple. I’m open to all styles, but the wife prefers the west coast ipas. Also any recommendations for new (or mainstay) restaurants for great food/beer would greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Breakside and Von Ebert both make really good west coast style IPAs, and both are family friendly too.
