Thanks. As a side note, looking at the actual date, I really wish they would get away from these Sunday events. Maybe it's just my personal situation, but a Saturday event just sounds so much more appealing.

agree it's pretty inconvenient, especially if you'd like to enjoy a few on one of the event days. My guess is that he feels he gets good crowds on Saturdays, Sundays are a slower day for natural reasons, so bring the crowds in for the big releases on Sunday. It's a smart business move, although more inconvenient for some of us.

It was Saturday the past 2 years. This year it is presumably Sunday because Dark Lord Day is that Saturday.

Saw the Buckley Day post. Looks like 500 ml bottles. Variants TBD. I would be happy with a similar repeat of last years.

I really wish this wasn't the day after Dark Lord Day. I have wanted to go to one of the releases, but there's zero chance of me being able to make over there that morning. ISO: mule.

We are hitting in on the way back to Lansing, so we love that it is the day after DLD. I can see this equally screwing and benefiting a lot of people.

    The quote from the email:

“We will have more barrel aged buckleys, adding 2 different double barrel aged versions, one being a double barrel version of Kentuckley and the other being a double barrel version of Canuckley. These have aged appx. 18 months each.”

For anyone who has gone to these releases, what is the recommended arrival time prior to the start time? I'm now 2 hours away so planning is more important.

They have adjusted allotments based on turnout. Over the course of the day the allotment size will start going down, but they had variants for probably a week afterward.

So, if you swung by later in the day you could probably get most everything with no wait, but your total allotment might be smaller (e.g. 1 bottle of each versus 2 bottles of each). If you want the full allotment, you should probably be there 30-60 minutes before open based upon last year's turnout...and then you are in for a long wait for bottles.

I arrived well after they started selling (hours later) last year and waited in line for about 45 minutes. I don't recall whether the same allotment was available to me as was available to the first in line that day but I was able to buy at least one of every variant. Also, immediately after I bought my bottles the line had reduced so much that my wife, who was eating across the street while I was in line, walked right up and bought bottles with no wait at all.

Did they streamline the check out for Buckley last year. 2017 was so goddamn painful. Hoping to make the release but not interested in the 4 hour checkout process.

Do they open at the normal time on (noon) on Buckley day? I may show up late afternoon and really do not want to wait around.
