Considering I think balance is the hallmark of NG, I am guessing the Brut will go over much better since it's inherently a more balanced style than a fruit-infused IPA, or at least I'm hoping. I agree that the market in WI (and most places with any sort of beer scene) doesn't need any more hazies or beers of other trends.

    Thanks for your input.

This can’t possibly be about money. First of all this style of beer is expensive to make. Second of all it’s a Thumbprint so it’s gonna be made in a finite amount and every drop will move. It’s not like this beer took up Spotted Cow tank space.

Honestly, I won't be surprised if the beer is bad (or at least mediocre); it's definitely outside Dan's typical wheelhouse (I was curious but not entirely excited when I heard it announced), and as we've seen with even a lot of more IPA-centric breweries, it takes some work to dial in a "new" style of IPA.

On the other hand, I would much rather Dan keep taking chances with Thumbprints; he obviously does a fantastic job with his more traditional styles (fruit beers, sours, etc.), but one of my favorite parts of the Thumbprint series is how all-over the place they've been historically. Getting a new sour every month or two would be great, but every once in a while he comes out with something from left-field that you never knew you wanted (like an imperial Spotted Cow, which has never been my favorite beer).

My uninformed $.02: I like that it nails the fruity juicy thing but doesn't have sludgy acid mud in the bottom of the bottle. I do wish there was more of a hoppy bite. My favorite thing about this beer is that it doesn't give me instant heartburn like haze slurry crap usually does. Good to have as an option if I'm in the mood for a juice beer and will enjoy my 4 pack but won't buy any more after that. Much more excited for that Brut IPA to drop.

I'm late commenting on this, but I definitely thought Break O'Day was pretty weird; it's sweeter than I like in a beer with abv that low, and I didn't feel like the hop bite went very well with the sweetness. Almost tasted like a West Coast IPA with apple juice (or peach) added in.

It's not a bad beer, and I'm fine drinking it, but it's definitely not what I expected.

My guess is they want it to sit at the depot for a while - Pretty sure it sold out fast last time they released it.

Yeah, understandably so, it's a damned delicious beer and probably the best strawberry beer out there- does someone know of better beers with strawberry in it? I look forward to picking up a few 4-packs for myself. I know people scooped up a bunch last time to resell for profit, but even then, I'd have to imagine NG should be making plenty to go this time around.

Really? I didn't really see a lot being resold or traded. I think that ship has sailed. It's an absolutely fantastic beer, but it usually trades and/or sells not far off from cost.

I believe it all went so fast in the last drop because people wanted to capitalize on the relative scarcity of the drop before that where people were selling it for 3-4x above cost.

I’d like to think so, but supposedly they increased production from 2017 to 2018, and it still seemed pretty scarce to me last year. I would have easily bought another 2-3 4packs, if I had seen them (personal consumption).

I called Woodman’s yesterday about strawberry rhubarb and they said next week.

I called Woodman‘s today about strawberry rhubarb and they said they were sold out.

Awesome. They really live up to their reputation In that liquor department

If it's out and has already came and went from the hot shopping spots try more out of the way places. I can remember SR coming and going quickly last time it was released but I stumbled across it randomly on the shelf at a Pick & Save of all places months later. Didn't even know Pick & Save got anything other than the usual Spotted Cow and Moon Man.

Found rando gas stations around the Dells that had SR about a month? after release when vacationing last year. Came away with a case at 11.99 each.

I also like? Break O’Day. It’s like they took Scream and mixed it with one of their fruit beers? Polarizing indeed.
