$20 is what they've done in the past for Sailor's Kush; I think that it's their chosen price-point for the most over-hopped of their beers.

Yes, they've had $20 IPA 4 packs before. FSDDC and Sailor's Kush are two I recall. Might be another one or two. They did just release a new IPA, Bodem, at $10 so at least they are not forgetting those of us who prefer reasonably priced beer.

yeah, all of their one off stuff has been $20 a four pack, and it's sold out the day or 36 hours later at most.

i've thought they were some of the best beers HA have ever done, and some of the best beers I've had in the last year, such as blood from the moon and alive in its jaws.

would gladly pay double for those compared to NvU, which is wholly uninteresting

I think $20 is perfectly acceptable if they're also doing a bunch of releases at other price-points; it shows that they're not just jacking up all their prices just to do so.

And Sailor's Kush is one of my all-time favorites of theirs, so if $20 gets me that level of quality every time, I'm on board. I'm very curious about this release, but am just gonna grab a pack of Bodem because I'm trying to be on good behavior. :stuck_out_tongue:

HA is typically reasonable with their pricing. Also the few extra bucks means it will stick around a bit longer and maybe I can get ahold of it.

Hoping to get up to Lincoln Saturday night but assuming Classic Future cans will sell out by then. Does HA fill growlers of one-offs like this?

FSDDC I believe was $24 after tax. $20 is a little easier for me to swallow.

People act sticker shocked at these prices. You knew from the jump this was not a cheap game to play

Maybe I have been around too long as it is absolutely sticker shock to me. Maybe one day I will wrap my head around it, but when you can walk up and down aisles at Binny's and pick up DIPA 4-packs for $10, $11, etc.; it is absolutely shocking to see a brewery charge $20. Awesome for Half Acre though...

I will spring $20 every once in a while for breweries I actually support and know its going to be great. I don't take too many chances when it comes to beer. Chicago is a cool city where a lot of the stuff that comes out, you could usually find it on draft at one of our 3,000 beer bars. I don't really buy a lot of cans but I will def buy this one.

I think people have been a bit surprised to see the escalating price points coming out of Half Acre. As others have said though, they do have a TON of really good cheap offerings too so it doesn't really bother me personally that much.

Plus, I am pleasantly surprised at how cheap some of their wild offerings have been. I'm also spoiled to live a short walk from the brewery so any time I want to try something and don't want to pay for a full four pack I just have a pour at the bar.

    If it's $20, I'll buy yours.

I would consider $20 a bit of a price gouge if nothing about the beer changed, but it's still one of my all-time favorite IPAs, and at this point a summer tradition for me.

Just got back from Lincoln. Tried a sample and I gladly paid $20 a 4 pack. In fact I bought two 4 packs. Bartender said this will likely sell out at Lincoln today. Not sure how much is left.
