    I would rethink this abbreviation

My wife works there (not at Slumbrew) and that is our affectionate shorthand. I'm secretly hoping it catches on.

If "Slumbrew" works as a nod to the play on words of "Slumerville", then "Ass Row" should work as well!

Im the opposite, I live literally 10 minutes North of Boston and anything South seems like a world away!

crossing the river from Somerville might as well be going to Spain.

I live in Medford and my brother used to live in Hingham. I probably would have visited him more if he did live in Spain.

Thanks for the post Caitlin, I need to swing by more often ... I'll do another brewery crawl in the area soon. Cheers!!

I still haven't been to Dorchester Brewing because that's a fairly decent jaunt from Somerville. I think the Uber is cheaper visiting my parent's in Wakefield.

Although I did make it to Backlash finally which is close by, but we had already had a full day so didn't bother to head to Dorchester.

How was Backlash? Worth the trip across the rubicon?

Beers were ok, beautiful space though. One of the better tap room lay outs I've ever been to. So yes, I'd say it's worth heading out to. It's fairly close to Trillium as well, that's where we went beforehand.

I grew up on the north shore. When my aunt moved to Randolph, we all went over to wave goodbye. I haven't seen her since.

I’d forgotten about Slumbrew for the most part (little distro outside 128 in recent years, so-so beers) but this thread has inspired me to meet a friend for lunch this Friday at the “Ass Sq” brewpub. Will report back.

As I mentioned in my post above in this thread, there's no reason not to swing by to check them out.

Unlike many other breweries, they're not in the middle of no where. There's so much else to do at Assembly, and you can usually find parking fairly easily.

I've been impressed with the food at Slumbrew Assembly. And its about 20 feet from the Assembly Station on the orange line. I do miss the outdoor beer garden though. Luckily River Bar a couple blocks away has one of the best patios in the Boston area.

I do recall the food looking good there, but it's hard for me not to go to Smokeshop if I'm at Assembly.

Visited the taproom/pub in Ass Sq today with my buddy.

Cool spot, wasn’t busy at all. Tried several beers, none were bad but none of them excellent either (my recollection of Slumbrew since their inception). Split a nice meat & cheese board.

But as @meefmoff indicated, the prices were really high & bothersome. $8 per 13 oz pour of the standard stuff, higher prices & shorter pours for the one-offs. And for as good as the board was, I didn’t think it was $26 good.

I’d probably swing by for a beer if I’m in Ass Sq again, but probably wouldn’t make it a destination.
