I’ve been to Moscow in the summer. It’s not cold!

But hear you on the water bit. I went to Ukraine for the summer to stay at my friends place back when I was 19. Bought his parents a present each to say thanks. For his dad I got a bottle of JW Blue, thinking he would savor it over many weeks. He cracked the bottle the first night I arrived and solo domed it over the course of about an hour. Then moved on to vodka. Several hours later when I crawled to bed after a few vodkas, he was in front of the TV singing karaoke. One of the most impressive feats of drinking I’ve ever witnessed.

Sorry for being late to this thread but I just thought of this. Beer is a "hobby", yes, and I spend a fair amount on it, but I don't spend nearly as much as my wife does at Target every month!

I'm kidding, but that's actually true. Some of that, maybe even most, is laundry detergent and so forth so I guess it's OK.

What I was originally going to say though, is that food is a bit of a "hobby" for me as well, and I spend a lot more on that. I like to cook and so I need to buy specific ingredients for specific dishes and some of those can run much higher than beer does. Guanciale for Bucatini All'Amatriciana? Fugget about it! Crawfish for an authentic Crawfish Etoufee? Seriously? Truffles? Don't even think about Truffles!

In the end I just like good food, good beer, and good coffee - the finest things all around, and I pay for it. I have cut down on my beer spending though, and my intake. Maybe I'll start eating Kraft Mac & Cheese and SPAM to balance things out.

I once paired mac and cheese with a bottle of Cristal Champagne- so it is possible!

I spend an average of $200 to $250 per month. That includes weekly brewery visits and home consumption. I should be saving my money for new teeth. There's just so much beer and so little time.

I don’t bottle trade, I do buy expensive beer in ridiculous amounts. I could have voted a category higher as I was on the cusp. Sometimes it just seems absurd. I have paid a high amount for beer, filled my cooler, and balked at $4 high price of bag of ice until next stop I knew would be cheaper. Rationalization meet compartmentalization. It is my expensive vice though - share freely with friends and honest strangers without a gripe. Still feel lucky to have these options.

If my wife asks, definitely less than $100/mo. My last trip to Seattle I went a little crazy.

My amount per month is due to homebrewing supplies, grain, etc. Rarely do I actually purchase commercial beers unless I want to try something, visit a brewpub or compare what I brewed vs the pros.

About $150 -$200. I rationalize by saying other hobbies can be way more expensive. For a retired old guy, this beer thing is quite manageable, thank you. I occasionally spend big time for a special beer, like in the picture - me and my Westvleteran

One reason I am a cash drinker, I don't want an audit trail of how much I spend at breweries.

I work at Night Shift, so I really never pay for beer. $50 or less is right up my alley, but my fridge would say otherwise.

Cheers... I stayed sterile just to spend more money on beer. It's the new black.

Crazy to think how I know started a home brew club, and I am working to be in the beer industry and I honestly only spend 20 dollars a month. I guess I am big on consuming less and less lol
