Good god we’re calling beer at one month old now. It’s getting to the point of absurdity, If you don’t know the date it tastes fine. I’ve had four month old canned head high and to be honest it tasted almost perfect. Sorry but every thread now is people saying one month is old.

All of Kane’s core beers are more than just late hopped aromatic juice beers. They’re well made and have more to them than just that. Don’t let a month old time stamp stop you from buying cause it perpetuates the problem. Last point, I’ve bought two month old tonewood freshies guess what. It tasted perfect. Sorry rant over.

Agree wholeheartedly. I refuse to accept any "personal opinion" arguments here, too. 4 weeks is not old for a beer. It just isn't.

haha, didn't mean to suggest these are over the hill or fading... in fact I bought some of the sneakbox...

I was just observing that after almost a month, there was still a ton left to sell through, so at the same pace these could easily get to 2-3 months old... by sending a bit less to wegmans and more to say a bottle king or something, it would strike a better balance and turnover faster. But I think they are still figuring that out and ultimately will

I agree it benefit to spread them out. And your post did clarify that. I was more just reacting to the overall comments I’ve seen on this forum as a whole lately. Also have a sick toddler and newborn at the moment so maybe I’m just tired : ) anyway cheers and just clarifying too that it wasn’t directed at your post in particular. Just that topic or freshness being so blown out of proportion these days IMO.

Totally agree...I recall seeing someone in the Treehouse thread complaining about one month-old Green they picked up even though they advertised a new batch was released that day. Waaah!

Most IPAs and DIPAs hold up for several months these days. And many times breweries release them being “green” and they need some time to settle. I guess it definitely varies by brewery but Kane’s staple beers seem to hold up very well.

Perhaps a sign that Kane can start to widen their distribution for sure.

I think a lot of places release beer thats a tad green so they can make their can release schedules. I don't feel like Kane does it very often, I've noticed cans of new core beers are dated a week prior to release recently. Also, Kane beers hold up really well and better than some other places, at least for me. Core beers 110% do, other sticker can's have as well but generally I only get 1 4 pack and don't it on it super long

bottle release tomorrow for those interested... I'm skipping as I'm not a big fan of the 500 ml format. I typed a summary as I have no idea how to imbed instagram on here since im a tech simpleton.

Stacking Casks is a new series of barrel aged beers that are blended then finished in a variety of casks. The 1st release is 12.9% blend of 2 different rye barrel aged barleywines and a barrel aged wheatwine. $16 per 500 ml bottle, 6 bottle limit.

Curious if this will be a shit show or not. Since the bottle limit is so high, I assume they made a ton.

I am inclined to say it will not be (i have been wrong before though) simply because this is not a stout and a unique blend which people will not be sure of how good it will be. Usually most people don't load up unless they know the trade value will be high.

Both look interesting but they’re not exactly highly sought after styles. I’d be surprised if this causes a big turnout.

Two very unique and different cool beers, not a soul.

DDH ipas that are every where...crowds (I know it’s not as crazy as before but still...)

I’ll never understand the current state of beer.

I'd be interested in the stacking cases if it was $16 for a 750. but i'm not going out of my way to pay that much for a 500ml bottle. typically i'm a huge fan of BA barleywines but voting with my dollars on price points that i think are reasonable and sitting out stuff i find to be pricey. but take it with a grain of salt as that's coming from a guy who probably dropped $400 in VT a few weeks ago between alchemist HF and treehouse...

Both sound really good, but I’m a Bock fiend. Wasn’t planning on driving up there but I might have to now.
