We only got 1 drop in Casper and I drank as much as I could. Sorry to see this go away.

I had one can and thought it was good for what it was. I may grab another can if I find one that's not ancient.

The big supermarket I go to had a bunch on the shelf this week if it's dated Jan or Feb I'll buy. The store across the street has already switched to Hazy Thing.

That dating should still be good. Here's hoping.

    Do people actually do this?

Edit: By the way, I don't think this beer ever made it to Missouri, at least the southwest part of the state where I live. As a fan of Sierra Nevada, I guess I should have tried it when I saw it in Vegas last August.

Finally, just saw that Sierra has a new session IPA in cans: https://sierranevada.com/beer/3-weight-session-ipa/.

Upslope Brewing put out multiple beers in stovepipes that were higher in alcohol. And they worked for me.

Yeah I get that, I have an Oskar Blues BA Ten Fidy staring at me on my shelf. But I don't normally see those beers in the convenience store/gas station with the other AAL, Mexican Lagers iced down for the crowd that hits them up after 5. Maybe this is just a Texas thing, but all the gas/convenience stores have open coolers with these stove pipes (used to be pounders) lined in ice waiting for people to grab them at the end of the day. I am not really a big fan of this format for larger ABV beers as it is too similar to a bomber, only a 3 oz difference.

It’s a shame they’re getting rid of it. I loved picking up a stovepipe every so often when the craving striked. It makes sense they’re retiring it since it’s still sitting on the very shelves I picked from almost a year later.

Also, is it just me or did the acronym read “Big Fuckin’ Deal” to anyone else at first? Maybe cause growing up, my mum used to say BFD when we complained about stuff :joy:

Newman never bottled, so you likely had their contract-brewed Albany Amber Beer from Hibernia Brewing Ltd.,, Eau Clair, WI, (previously Walter Brewing Co.) or C. Schmidt & Sons of Phila., or, later, from F X Matt.

    Ahhh, good ol' Sierra Nevaddydaddy...

I wonder how many people are now going to rush to their local 7/11 or CircleK in search of this treasured gem.

That's odd because I purchased some BFD at the Mills River SN gift shop 2 months ago.

Maybe that was from the last batch?

@SierraTerence in post #6: "Last packaging of BFD was 2/1/2019"

    Cheers!

It was a beer we designed with our Utah wholesalers to get into the 3.2 market. Of course those laws have now changed.

    Nice hoppy session beer.

We still make a small volume in cans but it will also be part of a variety pack (bottles) coming out in August.

So, it is not a year-round product?

When it is available (apparently now) is it just distributed to certain states vs. nationwide?

    Cheers!
