Cognac Coffee was one the best variants. More complex and balanced than many other variants and they def need to bring that back. DLD variants need a fan voting for an all star year in which the list of variants are fan favorites only! No way that is happening. Also am for the no announced tap times so there aren't lines winding all over the place. At one point folks were in line for a tapping 90 minutes later! Just like random variant, just hope to run into something great on tap.

The lines in years past when tappings were unannounced were a fraction of last year's lines with the timed tappings. It makes sense. Most people aren't going to stand around for something they have no idea about but many people will stand in line for Beer X at 2pm. And they will get in that line an hour or more before to better their chances. And others will do this too which just results in giant lines jamming the entire area.

I usually get to DLD around 7-8 am but this year I'll be arriving around 11:30-noon. Are there still lines to get in at that point?

I'm just trying to gauge how much beer to bring for the line share.

So far I'm bringing for in fest/shuttle/line
    Assassin 16
    Chemtrailmix 17
    ADWTD B2
    Wake n Cake
    Local hazecans
    Side Project bookends

Going with my brother in law but looking to meet up with some folks for shares.

    Q
depends on if they announce the tappings. last year there were definitely lines to get beer and people sharing in line at noon.

Yep, noon - 9pm has been my schedule every year and you literally just walk in with no line at all.

I had the exact same scenario in college, except my friends were the ones getting the lap dances from her.

Let's get back to the thing everyone really cares about...the weather. A quick glance at weather.com shows thunderstorms tomorrow and Friday but a cloudy day with low chance of rain on Saturday. Any non-paved areas likely to be a shit show.

Even flying solo, you'll be able to find people to share with. I mean, not me since you're from Ohio but other people. No doubt.

Greetings fellow Beer advocates. 2nd DL day upcoming. Question.....anyone recall if the fest is held on pavement or grass, or both? Ruptured my Achilles 3 weeks back and am debating whether to use my scooter, or wheelchair. Any insight into the grounds setting will be helpful. Here are a few beers I will be bringing for in the fest, arriving at 10am or so:

-Bourbon barrel aged vietnamese speedway (2014)
    -Aslin Boston
    -Aslin Luling
-Variety of IPAs/sours from the Northeast as well.

    Cheers all.

Brutal injury. I'd say wheelchair all the way. Would be a lot safer from people bumping into you. It is grass, pavement, rocks and everything else, but wheelchair would still be my recommendation. People will steer clear of you far more than with the scooter.

Thanks for the info! Always wondered why their bourbon was balanced for such a young age. Cheers!

Yeah they have a wheelchair accessible entrance so you can avoid all the rubble at the first area (and the cluster that also might be there).

Most of the area from there on is paved, except for where the bands play. Think that's still gravel as well.

Little Secret. There were zero lines last year later in the day. I literally could have drank as much Chemtrailmix I wanted at 7 pm - I think I had 3-4 glasses. In years past, I have never even sniffed anything remotely rare/whalez. There will be hoards of people (like years past) standing around the tap booths. It creates a clusterfuck. At least it was organized last year with the lines.

That's horrible. I wish you a speedy recovery. If you need assistance, I would be happy to push you to the front of the lines to order drafts and pick up bottles.
