I hope you are referring to the American gose that are excessively tart and nothing like the highly drinkable goses brewed in Germany.

    Styles? Beer styles. Right?
Start with the first word. Beer. How can anything that starts with beer piss you off? Not me.
I don’t love all styles ( give me some time) but they sure as hell don’t piss me off.
Wait! What about those pretentious hazy crap shit bag beers from the sucky east coast?
    Kidding. Still not pissed.

What?!?! Wheatwhites are a completely different style, and definitely deserve their own category. Also, great Wheatwines can be elite beers. It is also a fairly unique style.

If I have a beef with beer style categorization (which i actually don’t but for arguments sake), it’s the incessantly new number of IPA “styles”. Is it really necessary to have a style category for hazy IPAs, NE IPAs, West Coast IPAs, etc? Seems like profiteering off the popularity of the masses, everyone likes IPAs so if we make new styles of IPAs we can sell more beer (even if they aren’t that new/different/unique/good).

Once again, for me it's the "let's shove some food in the vat, like a pastry, and see what we get" movement. To each their own. May unicorns fart stardust into your cinnabun chocolate pastry stout with glitter.

I too will take a hard pass on the beer-as-pastry styles. Drink what you enjoy but I am immediately disinterested once some candy brand is on your ingredient list. Also marshmallows. Worst source of fermentable sugar in my opinion

You had to start a whole new thread to complain about these styles? Couldn't just find one of the 700+ previous threads complaining about these styles and post your thoughts in there?

Over a page without any mention of rauchbiers? I eat ham maybe once or twice a year and am not inclined to drink it.

I like black IPAs, but I think they're just hoppy porters should be called such. black IPA is an oxymoronic term that is just for marketing purposes.

Milkshake IPAs are an affront to beer itself. Same with chile beers, no, I'd rather not drink something that claims to be beer but tastes more like liquified expired habaneros.
