People are so desperate to make money off of craft beer that they don't stop and realize they can do much simpler things and make more money.

I had a wasted guy offer me a grand for my variant site unseen one year. I happily would have taken him up on the offer had he been a bit more sober, but figured it would be a douche move to take advantage of someone like that.

It is amazing how FFF manages to throw this large of a fest and make it better, year after year. The Cuban Chimmichanga was restaurant quality food at an outdoor beer fest; how often can you say that?

I stay away from the variant lines, just don't feel the need to wait that long to try each variant when there are so many good beers. Had the following taps: Toppling Goliath Morning Latte (was amazing), Quaanto (one of my favorite beers all time, Half Acre Classic Futures, etc. So many good beers on tap at any given time.

My friend did not read directions and cut off the excess loop on his wristband. The volunteer and the one next to her both denied him the bottles, to which I completely understood. We vouched for him and said he is not the type of person to do that. They relented and gave him a tote bag and made him promise to follow the rules next year. It was a happy result and obviously there were no ill intentions by my friend. However, boy does that show a loophole for people in the future. I hope they manage to start scanning the wristbands or have a separate part of the wristband that they can remove. Hate to see people take advantage of this loophole and get two allotments which you could have easily done this year.

    Overall, just an amazing fest.

it wasn't refreshing at all and just contributed to the beer bloat. but that was really my only small complaint of an awesome day. my favorite of the 4 so far.

I honestly had no idea you couldn't cut off the excess, and it's a bit ridiculous that is how they determine if you've picked up your bottles. The end of the wristband should explicitly say "DO NOT CUT THIS OFF".

I cut mine off at hunapuh day this year and thought about doing it for DLD, but i didn't have scissors with me so I just let it go.

Haha I might have. I didn't see the hand sanitizer incident but we were in line around that time, maybe a little later (which checks out because that guy was ahead of us) and we did see a guy stumbling through line, struggling to stay on his feet. We offered encouragement - one of my friends yelled "you got this man!" but then when we got to the part where they scanned our wristbands we saw the guy on the floor with someone trying to give him water. It was a shame...he was so close to the finish line but didn't quite make it.

Did Dark Matter sell mini snifters this year?

Did they last year? I don't recall them the past couple years.

Saw someone in the variant scrum scam a chemtrail off a guy for $100, wanted to say something but didn't want to get punched in the face

It's on their friends for not letting them know or even doing the tiniest bit or research themselves. The first DLD I ever went to I got a golden ticket and didn't want it. My friend told me I was a moron and I officially learned my first lesson of DLD

I mean, at the end of the day 100 bucks for a bottle of beer for someone who doesnt really know about it or care about it isnt really all that bad. Not everyone is a beer dork with a mental rolodex of secondary bottle values. Dude probably just wanted to recoup part of his ticket price, and again scoring 100 dollars for a bottle of beer to someone who doesnt really know is a pretty sweet deal.

Some guy on our bus ride home said he traded two of his regular DLs for a Loadstar, then started bragging about how he bought a variant off someone for like $70. Several of us wanted to punch him in the face...

Anyways, I started talking with someone who claimed he was a brand manager of some sort for Cycle, said that Rare Scoop was being tapped at the event, did anyone see it? Besides the two Modern Times taps, and the Bottle Logic one, guest taps at the event were very unappealing from what I noticed.

I almost wish instead of staggering their different DL variant tappings, they just tapped the same variant across all beer tents there. Example, at 9AM, Handjee would go on tap at all tents, 10AM 'X' would go on tap at all tents. I'd think this method would greatly reduce the sizes of the lines and distribute more people across all of the tents as each variant for that time slot would be available at every tent. Then for the limited stuff you could stagger them towards the end of the fest...

Saw one guy walk out of the bottle line with a handjee held high yelling, "$100 for my handjee!", I've never seen people run so fast trying to be the first to get to him.

I pulled an fvm, traded it right away for loadstar, then later traded my loadstar for a Chemtrail. Third year in a row getting Chemtrail and I'm super happy.

Yeah pink font this year, although the logo and stuff seemed smaller. I thought last year were gold again, maybe gold rimmed too? I have two diff gold mini snifters but am not good at deciphering that font, and am having trouble remembering last year's.
Yeah I had More Rare Scoop and BA Macaroon at Yum Yum at the same time. I actually just happened to be passing by and saw them writing More and I was like "oh I might be able to try Mehndi" since I missed it at MoRE the day before...and then they wrote Rare...and then the word Scoop...and okay take my money! lol
    That would be fucking awesome.

Looking back they were plain black last year. Seems like they produce less as I never see any 2018 glasses for sale or trade.

There was a gold rimmed and gold logo'd glass last year from the Indiana Craft Brewers Guild IIRC.
