Grabbed a couple of 4 packs earlier today. First time having it so I'm hopefully.

If your wife doesn’t offer a good enough FT, do you shop around for a better deal?

Well I've only been in the HB game for a year now. But, I would agree they have generally gotten better. For the core hazy doubles ipas, to me they usually range from so sweet that I dont want to finish one can (fresh prince beers) to just a bit too sweet (most releases this year). Tavern Cut is my favorite. I really enjoy the clean fermented west coast stuff they do (destination moon, your wish is granted), I like the lower abv stuff they do. I'm not a fan of the milkshake style in general so wont comment there.

I think what makes Le Jus such a great beer is the amount of flavor they pack in for a mid-abv ne ipa. It has the juiciness and the sharper back end (compared to most ne ipas) that i prefer. Its one of those beers where I say "this is pretty good but not mind blowing" and I'm heading back to the store to get another fresh 4-pack because the first 4 disappeared quickly

And they sell 1/6 barrels.....which is nice

Bought a 4 pack each of04/25/2019 Le Jus and Halogen Farm at Willowbrook Binnys about an hour ago and will put this debate to rest this weekend. Or drink them all and forget to post.

Halogen (and the Pipeworks collab) were both good but not great. Both had a bit of that hop burn I hate so much. It was slight, but my palate was extremely fatigued afterward, and the hop burn became heartburn. The PW collab also had a weird oily feel in the aftertaste. Both were fairly samey with their respective breweries as well (meaning the PW collab was more samey with PW's hazies). I hope a little time will kill the hop burn and bring out a little more nuance.

As someone who prefers a hop bite on my NEIPAs (and I know I’m in the minority), I completely disagree on Halogen. Overall, I find it the most well balanced of all HB hazies. It’s much dryer and less sweet than their others, tropical and piney, with the afterbite. I highly enjoy it.

given the events and releases this past week do beer nerds even have money left to buy this?

lucked out with both More releases which I immediately flipped for 8x cost, took a half day to hit up S'More Cowbell but a couple gushers made that trip barely worth it, rooked some drunk bro's off a couple Chemtrail, and got a few strategically placed mules to pick up Curvature and split the profits 80/20 with them.

so I'm sittin reallll pretty in terms of looping through multiple binny's with a hefty wallet and clear conscience

These folks fall into 1 of 2 categories...

    A. Disposable income
    B. Living beyond their means

Both of which will find a way to make the purchase unfortunately

I’m glad the hype was low enough on Halogen Farm that I could grab some over the weekend. Cracked one tonight and this is already one of my favorites ever from HB - juicy, balanced bitterness, and just enough creaminess. It reminded me of how much I miss Simcoe. I would buy this frequently.

I've found it fairly easy to get any hop butcher lately. All the losers who make 10% margins on HB cans have moved on to P3

The sad thing is that was someones actual thought process at some point this weekend.

The good news is that anyone who is dumb enough to put full days worth of work in just to flip bottles for a couple hundred bucks, can't sustain it long and will likely end up having to get a real job.

While I wish this was "regular" Galaxy Bowl...I'm interested in how this turns out.
