Circuit tips a can to Czech pilsners with its light and crisp metallic finish.

I guess when I am looking for a canned beer the last thing I want is a metallic finish. This marketing makes me question their beer.

if it's intentional it can be quite appealing, depending on the style. Duchesse, flag porter, taddy porter, etc., come to mind.

A light crisp finish a good Czech pils is actually about right for the style.

If I had to guess I'd say they simply brewed a mediocre pils with metallic off flavors and, instead of dumpIng it, decided to creatively market their mistake.

Sounds like they are trying to play around their "Tin Man" branding more so then accurately describing the liquid. Could be wrong... Anyone tried it?

They do not open until this friday, I want to love them because they will be local, but it looks to me like they are relying more on branding more than on their beer and that scares me, who would advetise their beer as metallic if they were really serious about their beer instead of marketing. I am going to give them a fair shake but this puts me on edge.

I would still try it but I really don't like metallic flavors in beer.

I wouldn't want to try anything that's intentionally metallic. After having had a bad 21st Fireside Chat that tasted like spiced molten aluminum, I'm done with cans for good.

Circuit is brewed with Saaz hops which in fact do have a "metallic' finish. It is intended to be crisp and refreshing like is typical for the style. It is not a brewed mistake that has been aptly marketed instead of being dumped. a metallic taste will have nothing to do with the beer being a canned beer especially since it's currently on draft only. Snowrs, don't be scared...stop in Friday and try some. Scared of getting a metallic taste? Try it nitro style. All the brews are very tasty!

Apologies if my post came off overly cynical, but I have been burned too many times by US craft "Czech-style" beers to be truly open at this point. So I'm thankful when brewers/employees take the time to respond on these boards. I have to say that having brewed with Czech Saaz hops myself -- and having consumed multiple beers brewed with them, primarily while traveling in the Czech Republic, I've never noticed a natural metallic character. Are you in a position to divulge some more specifics about the hops you use? Would be interested in where they're grown, AA%, etc. Thanks, and best of luck with the new place and hitting the mark on your (difficult to brew) beers!

Perhaps they meant minerally? Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the American ale yeast, Vienna malt, etc. again makes me think some serious shortcuts are being taken here in the interest of offering a "gateway" beer. Wonder if American 2-row malt is used as well?

I can see maybe Sulphur (from water chemistry) or dry, crisp and spicy, but I can say I have never experienced an intentional metallic taste in a Pilsner. Andy people here also think you are working for the Brewery might want to clarify. I am going to give them a fair shake, people have said it is well crafted beer but alot of alarm bells are going off based on what they have chosen to A.) present online with more mention of the cool stuff they are building. B.)
Some of the choices they have made on what they are brewing and their ingredients and descriptions.

Maybe is made with ferrous mineral water like Blake isle (scotland).the problem there are a lot of ferrous mineral waters in Europe, and depends from the lines of Volcanos'. For istance in tuscany there aren't volcanos but geyser (next to Siena). The ferrous mineral water come out 50 miles down in the Pisa country and water "smelt" of ferrous water. if there earthquakes, smell water of iron
