Upcoming trip to Anaheim, for the Disney (well, Star Wars, if we are being completely honest here) fun and sensory overload. Staying by the park, with limited transportation & time. Advocates, tell me what's the current (2019) hot take on the area breweries? Who's good for cans & fills, at reasonable prices? Where do you rank Noble, Bottle Logic, The Bruery, Green Cheek, and the rest, and will Modern Times ever open?
I think your best bet, given distance, selection, etc. would be Green Cheek, Bruery and Bottle Logic, Maybe even in that order. You'll probably get enough variety with Green Cheek (best bet of those for IPAs and lagers) and the Bruery (best bet being high abv old ales, stouts, belgians and sours) and can fill growlers and crowlers. So you could skip Bottle Logic (unless they have one of their heavy hitters on, but i don't think you can take those to go). Lots of stuff further out that's worth checking out, but nothing that convenient. I think Modern Times is still a ways off.
Check when you're going to see if a BL beer drops around that time period to get bottles on eventbrite and pick up there. GC's hops are very good, and getting better.
Unsung brewing is relatively close to Disney, the packing house is across the street with a bunch of food options. They’re no monkish but they’ve been doing can releases that are pretty much under the radar but have variety on tap/cans/ growlers.
Re: Bottle Logic, it's worth checking their website for any stouts available in crowlers. Right now they have Pie vs Pie, a stout with pecan/cocoa nibs.
I say it is. Pie v. Pie is a fun beer, but honestly, a crowler is a lot. Actually, when I went last, the crowler list is fairly decent.
They still have cans of Dr. Goodnight w/ Vanilla if OP wants a BA stout to go. Also some of their haze cans are solid, unheralded and easy to find.
This too. Variety of crowler options, may luck into a can release and their $6 flights are probably the best deal around.
