didn’t we have this issue last year? i was really clearly in my notes as to why i was suggesting the changes..

 

GTM was the most underrated variant of last year

 

@Sabtos so it looks like there are 2 different CTM entries (one for 17 and one for 18+19) but the 18/19 one says it was added by a different user in 2017...i think the same user to entered the 17 CTM..

 

To be fair a ton of people will call a hyped beer amazing no matter what. I thought it was ok. I definitely wouldn't pay 250 dollars for a bottle of it.

was way more on the big red side of cinnamon than the last chemtrail I had (2017 I think?)

 

has anyone cracked one of the Divine Rite variants yet? curious how those are...not much on Untappd and the few that are on there i think are mistakes because it shows pictures of draft pours and neither were on draft to my knowledge.

 

I think they already fixed it. The 18/19 one had 17 notes in it and my 17 review was gone lol...I dunno what they did but I think they undid it.

 

ok, good because i 100% agree that bourbon barrels vs. rye barrels was a pretty different experience.

 

Curious about this as well. I'm stuck with the xBBA version and wondering if it's drinkable or not

 

I think it will be great.

I have the xRBA but will be waiting a while. Can't wait to see notes but with so few bottles, and fewer reviewers, those will be few and far between.

 

my buddy i went with got the Rye x DR so if he opens it with me, i’ll be sure to review. i agree though - i see no reason why either wouldn’t be good.

I drank the 18 month aged Divine Rite at the distillery, and it was very nice. The white whiskey was also nice, albeit hot.

I have no reason to believe that DL that was put into Bourbon barrels for X months then put into (18-x) old DR barrels for (12-X) months won't be tasty. Maybe a little boozy pending how wet the DR barrels were.

This obviously assumes that 18 month DR is their oldest whiskey, and they age BADL for 12 months.

Anyone else agree to drink/share your variants among the other people you attended with and now just have this delicious beer staring you in the face every waking hour until the day you can all get together finally arrives?

 

Ahhh that's what I was worried about. I am really not a big fan of Ardberg or any of the heavily peated scotches, hence why I have had little inclination to drink it.

After a certain age, getting everyone together for this event will be nigh impossible. Add in the fact that after 2-3 Dark Lord variants your palate is SHOT and you can't taste anything, and you will be so drunk you might argue that murder should be legal...

Fuck your "agreement", enjoy your beers on your timetable. You could keel over waiting for this hypothetical share!

Haha lucky for me it was only 3 of us who went, so the problem actually wasn't so much getting everyone together as much as finding a day that just the 3 of us could meet when nothing else was going on so we didn't have to invite anyone else and enjoy our beer among us attendees only. We were discussing next weekend, so I don't have to last too long.
