    Have a nice Saturday BA.

Omnipollo NOA. Tasting insane as usual. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, pecan, fudge, marshmallow, biscuit, toasted dark bread, caramel, toffee, molasses, vanilla, cream, and light smoke/charcoal. Light roast/char and herbal hop bitterness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very smooth, creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is amazing. Light slickness, chalky roast, and sticky hops. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness; never acrid/astringent. Super smooth, minimal warming 11%. Glad these are in cans now, this meets and even surpasses what I remember when I reviewed it in 2016. Pretty much identical to the one brewed in Europe at the time, but this one is a bit less bitter on the roast. Completely worth the $20 price. Still plenty of 4 packs on the shelf. Mind Blowing.

Foundation / Old Nation collab NEDIPA. This was fantastic. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, coconut, red apple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, cedar, mint, and light peppercorn/pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; creamy, silky, bready, grainy malts; some sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering resin dryness; no hop astringency. Very smooth, nicely soft, minimal warming 8.2%. Fantastic Sabro, Mosaic, Centennial profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great balanced bready oat/pils/Vienna malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Spot on stuff as expected. Wish I would have gotten a 2nd pack.

Good day BAs! So far, it's starting out a nice day - somewhat sunny and mild, i.e. just like yesterday. So hopefully I'll combine yard work with some interior labor and get some more small but time-consuming projects off the "Honey-do" list. Today's New Breakfast Beer (before solid food and "Have Gun, Will Travel":

Pretty good if you drink it warmer than the bottle suggests.

    Good morning, BA!

When I was out in Colorado Springs last year I asked the fellow at the liquor store to recommend a “hazy” and “juicy” local IPA. He directed me to New Image East Coast Transplant. Turned out that beer was delicious, and the recommendation more than satisfied my request. So when I had the opportunity to pick up another New Image IPA I went for it without much thought.

Cheers, and hope you all enjoy your weekend!

We're going on a walk in the woods, better stock up the CamelBak (with water, not eau de vie).

Last of the season, goodbye sweet Nectar.

Povodni Moz by Green Gold Brewing, 5.8% ABV IPA. Classical west coast IPA with lots of hops and a subtle bready nuance. Cheers!

Incredible stuff. Aromas and flavors of huge juicy limes, citrus peel/zest, lemon, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red/green apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, vanilla, tequila, toasted oak, hay, straw, and grass; with moderate honey, agave, wheat, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit malt sweetness; light peppercorn, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang; light zesty bitterness, and tequila/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy, silky, bready wheat; some lactic acid/fruit tang; light oak tannins, and salinity in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing acidic/tangy/tannin dryness; zero cloying/pucker. Insanely smooth/soft, not overly lactic/salty. Minimal warming 10%, zero barrel booze. Perfectly balanced between juicy/vibrant limes, Lacto complexity, agave, and tequila barrel presence/integration; with a nice sized rich pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Just as impressive as the Sierra Nevada one, but richer from the high ABV. I am buying at least 2 more packs. This was everything I hoped it would be.

Insane DIPA as usual. Aromas and flavors of huge red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate honey, biscuit, light caramel/toasted malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malt, and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Super smooth, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 9%. Amazing classic Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe, Cascade, Citra profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; great bready malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness from lingering crisp resin dryness. Well attenuated for the ABV. One of the best west coast style DIPAs ever made, especially with having no newer hops.

Proof that there can be too many flavors in a stout. Maybe it will be better as it warms.

Apparently Ashcroft wasn’t getting any royalties for this song until recently. Interesting story behind that.
