    How would you compare it to Arketype? I had that the other day at MoRE...it was thick af. I mean, I like many others enjoy a full bodied stout, but this was like...not drinking a beverage but a food stuff. Pudding lol. I feared for my other end...

    I've had 2018 Mehndi and the Maple Vanilla Arketype, but it was about 6 months in between the two so take this with a grain of salt. Both are thick and full bodied. Most (all?) More stouts are.

    Mehndi is a superb example of a straight up BA stout with all the wood and bourbon notes one would hope for. It is perfectly executed IMO, and it sounds like the 2019 vintage is too. The MV Arketype was very roasty to me. It's not a trait I love in my stouts, but it's also not a deal breaker for me. To put it in beer parlance, I prefer Expedition over FIS because FIS is pretty roasty to me.

    Very accurate. Mehndi 19 was definitely more in the realm of Expo. Not as roasty and bitter as the arktype stout. Bourbon, oak, and dark fruit for days.

    But how long until the Dark Lord Day 2020 Thread starts? I’m really looking forward to that. But sadly I think the days of 100+ pages are over.
