Do they usually have the R&D on draft as well for the day of release?

They did for the Kriek release. Only time they've ever done that.

Actually I feel like they were pouring Kriek last year but I may be wrong on that?! I see on Untappd my buddy had it on draught on-site but that was in September, 1.5x month later.

Also, at the risk of sounding like an idiot yet also alerting too many others to what I didn't initially realize, the actual 'brewers notes' on the pictured bottle have me much more excited for this first release than the FB/Twitter description of this beer!

Its been a while since I have been to a release but line sharing is dead now right?

That's been the Last Stated Official Position, but at the last R&D of 2018, when Deb came around to say hi as she always does, she said nothing about the people in front of and behind my party, both of whom were sharing openly in front of her. Deb, from everything I know, is not the kind of gal to flinch at being direct in her disapproval.

So, share at your own risk?

I thought I heard line sharing was Ok but patio sharing was not allowed.

I mean, we've been through this before, but per New Glarus' own posts, all outside beers were prohibited a couple years ago. Not in the parking lot, not on the patio. New Glarus never said nevermind, so I assume that's still the rule. But how strictly it's currently enforced is an unknown.

How much peach are you guys expecting? Lots of fruit character like in a Kriek or more of an accent flavor to the sour.

Well... there is 1000 lbs of peaches and new glarus has never been a brewery to use a modest amount of fruit in any beer... sooooo id imagine there is more than an accent

I’d normally agree, but with the label stating that spontaneous fermentation encouraged “sour Brett notes to dominate 1,000lbs of delicate organic peaches” I feel they are going out of their way to state this won’t be nearly as fruit forward as most of their stuff.

I would assume just an accent given the description they posted about the beer doesn't mention it, and if it had a ton of peach flavor I'd assume they'd have peach in the name similar to other fruited R&D.

Yea it seems the way it's stated this won't be a peach bomb, per se, but half of me is hoping they're downplaying it (read: the fruit aspect) to keep us nerds at bay!

Well, I did come across one 4-pack of Break O Day. It reminds me of Dogfishhead ApriHop, which I am not sure is still made, in terms of the flavors present, but not in the same proportion. So I'm thinking the fruit is either apricot or peach (given that they apparently had a bunch of peaches around for the upcoming special release beer). Probably a 3-3.5 beer for me. The bitterness and the fruit don't work so well together. Perhaps my least favorite NG offering. Which is what I said about Spotted Cow and Berliner Weiss before I started loving them.

Well it’s misleading to begin with because brett itself isn’t sour... unless they are saying it like, sour and brett notes. But like I said, they have never done a fruited beer with a humble amount of fruit. Even at 3lbs per gallon, you’re right around 2000 bottles or so. 3lbs of peach per gallon is a pretty decent amount

Dan Carey is one of the last brewers I would ever expect would have to be Well Actually'd about wild=/=sour, but here we are.

Aww shit, I forgot this is this weekend. I’m tapped from FWIBF. Hopefully this sticks around the depot for a bit.
