So, yeah. The Blue Line all the way down to...Broadway? is basically Beachwood. It's less than a 5 minute walk from the station. But, it's a two hour ride.

Who has the best NE IPAs in LA besides Monkish?

Modern Times, Highland Park Brewery, and every now and then Mumford.

Reviving this old thread to see if anything new in DTLA has popped up. I'm staying near Modern Times & Mikkeller so I assume i'll be going there often. Do not plan to have a car so Uber to HP Chinatown & Mumford. Skipping the Angel City's & Arts District places, but any thing new an outsider might not be aware of yet?

I know Mumford said they had plans on making a satellite tap, but other than that....no. Still about the same. When are you in town?

if you happen to find yourself taking a train from Union Station anywhere, there's a new brewery in the station worth checking out for a pre-train pint, just for the space alone. The head brewer is Devon Randall, from Pizza Port

It should be noted that K&L has a much bigger selection when you shop online since you see the inventory from their Redwood City & SF locations. Pretty much anything can be ordered online for in-store pickup at the Hollywood location though - just give it like a week or so of lead time.

Oh, nice to beer week and union station both. Depending on the BL stasis release in June I might be taking a train down to the OC. And what great timing for beer week.

Guess I'll be that guy... I remember when Devon was brought on board at Arts District and there was a bit of hype behind what she would do for that place. Well, maybe the beers were better than what was before but IMO that's really the most I can say. But as you said, maybe for the space alone it's worth a visit.

Loved the space. Not so much their beers. Next time into Union Station will have to check out the new spot.

Best thing about the train ride is being able to take a wizard. And the $10 all day rides on weekends.

Imperial Western and Arts District are both owned by the same restaurant group, FWIW. Although I dig the space at Imperial Western more, especially since it's right where people line up for the bus to Dodger Stadium.

$10 round trip to OC from Union Station and I can drink my own beer on the train?
