Frash PF at DLD!!!

 

Tapping at the brewpub this week:

Wednesday 6pm - BBA Moloko 2018
Thursday 6pm - Crack the Skye 2017
Friday 11am - BBA Blot Out the Sun 2018

 

I see Moloko and Blot out the sun are barrel aged. Is Crack the Skye?

 

I thought just the Blot was barrel aged in Blot out the Sun?

Picked up Quaanto yesterday, was probably my favorite beer from DLD. Considering this used to be $15 a bomber, this is a steal for an excellent Triple IPA. For anyone not into the haze craze and pastry stout lovefest, the To-Go list is loaded with world class options right now.

 

Ran by Sunday to see if any variants were on tap. I see some buddies outside with drinks. They say they're waiting for a table and were told it may be an hour, even though the place is about half empty. They have a waitress who's been getting their drinks so I figure I'll wait with them until she comes back.

About ten minutes go by with nothing happening, so I go inside to see if maybe I can just order a drink at the bar. A guy immediately comes up to tell me that it's not a walk up bar and he'd be outside to get my drink order. I go back outside and wait a bit. Maybe seven minutes later the waitress comes back out and drops off a drinks, I ask her if I can put in an order with her and she says no, she just got off her shift.

Finally the guy comes out and I ask for a zombie dust and go to hand him my card, turns out it's cash only outside. Thankfully I have just enough. He asks my friends with me if they want anything else. One guy asks if there is anything else "special" they have, like something barrel aged.

"Oh we have Pillar of Beasts, it's a BA barleywine with salted carmel."

"Oh I'll try that."

"Sure, you can buy a bottle at the kiosk."

I forgot how much of a pain in the ass this place is

 

They were out at that point. So to be fair to the guy, he was probably tired of people asking about it.

 

I find it interesting that drafts ran out on Sunday afternoon this year at the brewpub. I know they lasted until at least Monday last year, and I even thought they still had stuff on Tuesday. I figured this year they might have drafts lasting longer due to the rain at DLD.

 

Maybe they're planning on having more surprise tappings. There's no way they actually ran out.

 

Maybe more just ended up in bottles than years past? Has anyone ran the math on that?

 

FFF have loads of packaging options now & they continue to release this and PF in bombers.

 

I suspect they put the variants in smaller kegs than previous years- they said some would only be 100 pours so they may have a ton of smaller unopened kegs that they can use for fests or other things rather than opening a larger one at DLD and then having to use it up before it goes bad.

 

Both of these in 6x12 bottles or 4x16 cans would be great

 

The male server with the hat would only take cash. The female server with the blonde/silver hair took either. Classic Floyds!

 

Too bad DLD wristbands don't work the entire year for payment at FFF...

 

They don't?! I just used it at Target.

 

Yea my few times outside they have always taken my card. However getting drinks outside is a pain in the ass even for me so I just pass and wait for my table
