I have heard Deschutes was coming to Iowa since the day it came to MN. Also have heard they want to build a brewery in the Midwest. Lagunitas after Chicago is open makes sense. But I would expect another IA brewer to get big and well known before we get another major out of stater

Just talked to my buddy who runs a store in eastern Iowa and he confirmed the Stone Enjoy By rumor. Says his distributor said it'd be around Thanksgiving week when it should hit.

Western Iowa? I was in BANCROFT today, population 735, and they had a better selection be beers at a bar than some liquor stores in Mason City. The distro in Iowa is very uneven, and it's not just north/south/east/west. Random places get random things.

Anyone else heard this? Saw it on the Iowa Beer Baron blog today:

"It only makes sense doesn’t it? Oskar Blues is in Illinois and Ohio, Odell in the Dakotas, Iowa is the next logical choice right? From a credible source it sounds like it is only a matter of time before both of these breweries will be showing their products on our shelves. Nothing can be confirmed as of yet, but it sounds like it will be happening soon and I will keep you posted! Excellent news going into the weekend and Thanksgiving holiday!"

Anyone heard anything about Narwhal coming to IA?

My source tells me we were only getting a small batch of Narwhal. In the neighborhood of 50 cases statewide but he didn't know exactly when or what part(s) of the state would get it. That was a week ago or so, but I haven't seen it yet or heard anymore so who knows?

Wow..We got Narwhal here in Omaha on 10/16. Was limited though and all gone from distro now. Should be more batches before Bigfoot 4-packs come out though, I would sure think.

Those are both solid possibilities and I'll tell you why. They are big enough and have an approachable enough lineup that they might actually get some shelf space and regular person sampling.

I'm shocked you guys in IA still haven't seen Narwhal!! Been up here in Rochester, MN for about a month-ish now. Drinking mighty good too. Would love to try it on tap though.

Usually SN hasn't had a problem getting stuff to IA in a short timeframe from initial release. What's the deal with this I wonder?
