One particular batch of BBR was a huge miss for us. Had almost a smokey thing going on. The other batches have been great imo.

We tried a few bottles fresh and sat on some. Tried one a few weeks ago and it was every bit as awful as I remember. Might just be different palates, but I didn't get much beyond straight lemon detergent. No depth.

Good to know I don't have to shy away from it based on one experience.

Have not actually decided yet, and that kind of ties into the ride thing too. I was thinking of staying as close as I can but then I was worried there would be no rides, so I thought maybe stay in more of a bigger town area, like near Parker Pie in hopes there are more ride options (and in case they have a post event party again haha). I possibly have a friend coming who can give my wife and I a ride, but I may not know that for sure until much closer and I dont really want to wait that long to lock in a plan.

So it sounds like the Friday before FoFA I should be prepared to deal with the scum of the earth. If that is the case, should one arrive at the brewery early to get in?

    Why do you say that?

Some would say the same about people flying in just for the event

On the day of the event there is usually a pretty big entry line. The line doesn't move super fast because they verify ID/Ticket and designated driver.

You guys seem nice. With all the chat about the line campers, cutters and what not. So the wording was a little harsh, I forget the internet can't detect sarcasm.

No worries. Sounded a bit misinformed, not sarcasm. Friday before is busy, but they pare things down because they know it's going to be. Options won't be like a normal retail day so the poor behavior you speak of should be nullified.

You're welcome. Also, I only go Friday if there are things I want to pick up in retail and then leave. Otherwise, I tend to lay low with friends gearing up for Saturday.

    It's an awesome experience. Enjoy.

I don't have a plan yet but I am staying relatively close Friday night so I was planning to check it out. If anything, I would go at open, drink and purchase what I want then head out before the madness ensues. Unless it's madness from the beginning? That's what I was originally asking. I assume it'll be more crazy later in the day.

It's a busy day, usually, but one never knows. I think it will be steady all day, but if you're close, just hang around if you're not in a rush. Not sure if you've been before, Hill in general, FoFA, but if not, I'd soak it all up as much as possible.

I've never been but plan to make the most of it, especially at HF. Thanks for your input though. :beers:

Usually crazy at opening better later probably but depends on what you want specifically that day. I'm going Thursday this year cause last year Friday was insane. Both retail and taproom lines out the door crossing each other. Definitely didn't get back in line again after the first time.

Just went to HF site and noticed mary is now 16 oz four pack. When did that happen? Any Mary I ever got was still 12 oz. Thanks for any response, cheers.
