When transporting a large number of HF growlers, in order to maximize cooler space, does anyone know if it's okay to either turn the growlers on their side, or perhaps upside down? So that you can for more growlers into the cooler?

    Thanks.

I lay them down in my cooler all the time. Never had an issue. Never tried upside down.

Do they release any special/out of the ordinary take home bottle out of the ordinary usually the weekend of FoFA? Or are they mostly for in-house that weekend?

Any word on if they’re doing the same hours for July 4th this year as last (i.e. normal retail)?

Thanks for the responses trying to decide on TH or HF for Saturday. TH is 2 hours south of me and HF is 2 hours north.

I would suspect they'll be open regular hours if they were last year.

As much as I love the new website, I can't seem to find a retail calendar like they had on the old site. That was a helpful tool.

It's going to be a busy week/weekend so I wouldn't expect anything crazy that would only contribute to the busyness. As you can see below, operations are a bit scaled back, etc.

    https://hillfarmstead.com/fofa/

Retail Hours for the week of Farmhouse Festival
    Wednesday & Thursday, July 31 & August 1
    12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

    Friday, Aug. 2
    11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In order to expedite service, we will offer limited onsite pours and Vintage menu. Expecting a busy day, we will limit our growler fill options to keep the tasting room moving quickly, and we’ll have plenty of options for you to take home, though!

    Saturday, Aug. 3
    Bottle Shop Only 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Tasting Room will be closed (no growler fills or tastings)

If looking for a mix of styles, done proficiently well across the board, then the answer should be straight forward: would highly suggest HF for the variety, quality, scenery, and all around experience + tap selection never disappoints via lagers, stout’s, saison’s, pale ales, IPA’s –

Nonetheless, can still take in some HF suds, if the TH route is taken via Armsby Abbey and/or The Dive Bar (sister): Armsby usually has one of the experimental lagers on tap as well

    thanks for this.

does anyone have any suggestions on an area to stay for FoFA that has some transportation options (like taxis)? my wife and I have never made the trip up to HF and will be for the event but I am not able to really find any sort of info to help me determine where to stay or how to get there without driving ourselves. I dont mind staying 30-45 minutes away and spending $$$ on a taxi.

Hill lists some accommodation options on their site: https://hillfarmstead.com/visit-us/
Scroll down under Hotels & B&Bs. Those might be some options for you if they aren't already filled up. You could also try Airbnb.

Public transportation is a bit tricky up that way. If you have luck with the places above, they may offer a shuttle service or ride option to get you to/fro FoFA.

    Good luck.

Ok thanks again. Last qq; do you know if they have uber/lyft nearby? I assume no but figure i'd ask anyway.

Not many options of taxi services I know of within striking distance of HF.

Town Taxi in St. Johnsbury. Not much info other than phone number and address.

Dave's in Littleton NH. A bit farther away but options on the website.

There has been one or two uber drivers hanging out in Waterbury recently, but nothing super consistent.

I don't know for sure, but I'd say it's unlikely. Others might have a better idea, but I've never heard of people ubering there.

In recent years there has been a group that hires a shuttle from the Waterbury/Stowe area and all chip in. Maybe can find some info on the past years threads or typing FOFA into the search bar.

If you're staying in or near Waterbury there will be FoFA-specific buses taking people round trip that day. Not sure if there are spots left or not. Email [email protected] for info.

Regarding the hours of operation the week of the 4th, I asked them this a few weeks back and they said they will have the regular schedule (12-5pm Wed-Sat).

What the heck Jon! You told me Thursday was the best day to go up!!

I kid of course. Can't get them all, and I will enjoy the case of Double Nelson I got. Which is now sold out.

That place must have picked up after I left yesterday. Was very quiet from 2 - 3:30 ish. TONS of Damon left, and when I looked in the cooler I saw what I thought was a lot of D.Nelson left. Was surprised to see it gone this morning.
