For those interested in the testosterone v estrogen thing. Beer and soy are major protoestrogens, many modern pesticides are also. So looking for ways to minimize pesticide and soy intake is great to reduce that (we're not talking about cutting beer here I hope).
On the testosterone side, fenugreek is the highest known plant source of prototestosterones. It's a seed used as a spice but sprouted fenugreek is a great source of dietary testosterone for those looking for that

I did. I have pretty much never cut on my drinking intake, which is hefty, but I lost about 60lbs, from 236lbs to 175lbs. I am currently in excellent shape, pretty low body fat.

I did Rushfit home workout, and intermittent fasting. Try to keep the carbs in check and not eat more than 2200 calories a day.

My doctor gave me this great advice a few years ago. It's simple yet true. Most of us simply eat too much.

Not to be redundant with other posts, but consistently good portion control/carb control is key, avoid all the fad diets, make it a lifestyle and you're good for a few beers a week.

This right here... I tend to graze a lot, especially in my office where there are always snacks available. A few times I year I will use an app on my phone to track all food intake for 3-4 weeks, just to level set a bit. Having to enter each and every thing that I consume has helped me break (well, more like control) the habit of over eating. It also tracks water consumption which is a big deal for a lot of people.

I am more of a daily drinker 1-2. I usually dont drink that much more on weeknds. I have lost almost 20 pounds since March from counting calories and want to lose around 19 more at the most.

I maybe over thinking this but while I love Ale it seemed to bloat me, making me feel i didnt progess as much as I had. I entered my healthy weight range and I am thinking I should avoid Ale until I get to my goal weight and drink Wine and Gin till then.

I have heard that Beer and hops are major T killers, also BPA lining in cans. I have have also hear that moderate drinking can boost your T, which seems to be more my experience. Is this mostly a Beer thing? I have only heard it being a problem with beer not Wine and liqour.

Ya my understanding is that it's primarily the hops that are the culprit

I also average 2-3 beers a day, to be honest many advices given so far are spot on. Exercise! Run, bike, pool... even long walks.

No fast food for me either or very, very rarely and I’m 5’11 for 190lbs so... slightly overweight just nothing worrying yet and looking to improve.

Bikes are a pretty big thing in many European cities. You'd think they'd have caught on here, too, especially in those places back east built around European traditions.

I walk and take the bus out of necessity.

Remember that it takes what... 60 says to form a new habit? So start small and do just the amount of that thing that your brain won't rebel against. Wanna start doing pushups daily? Do 1 today. Then 2 tomorrow. Soon you'll be doing 50 every day and not thinking twice about it.

I gave up working out a few years ago around the time I got near 30. Lost a lot of muscle weight. Drink a lot more and eat what I want when I am hungry. I feel good for being old. I do a shit ton of walking between dogwalks and work. I won't run or jog too much stress on knees.

I'm probably just shy of 180 and feel great. There is no way to be healthy and be 200 plus pounds. I don't care if you are at 6% body fat and bench 400 lbs you still put the same stress on your internal system as an obese person of the same weight.

Can you expand on what you mean by internal system? To me, that means BP, cholesterol, etc. If that is the case, your statement is 100% false.

I'm around 5'8 and at one point in my life I was 200 pounds and between 10-12% BF. I get my blood taken every year and coincidentally, that year my numbers were the best. And my body felt great.

While there are many factors at play in a person's weight (especially with the distribution of fat - some store it in their chest, some in their stomachs, some in their behinds, etc.), for the vast majority of individuals, to get into reasonable shape it's basically a math problem involving calorie and macronutrient balance. Unfortunately, beer is generally high in calories and doesn't provide much in the way of vital macronutrients.

However, that's not to say you can't drink beer and lose or maintain your weight. I've seen lots of people have success following the "If It Fits Your Macros" style of eating. A good primer on it here: https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/iifym-guide and here's one on accounting for alcohol while on the diet: https://www.iifym.com/macro-dieting-all-things-nutrition/drinking-alcohol-and-tracking-macros/

I third that recommendation. I've had success with 16/8 (even the 14/10) fast. Limit the carbs (bread, potatoes, etc) to one meal per day, preferably earlier in day. Don't eat at least 5 hours before bed. While doing this, I still drink beer and whiskey at night (so technically not fasting), but have lost weight not problem. Avoid processed snacks! Chips, pretzels, crackers, wheat thins, cereal bars, etc! If you do need to eat those, do it earlier in the day, like before 2pm. Choose to snack on nuts, real cheese, hard boiled eggs, jerky, etc.

By internal system I am referring to primarily your heart, liver, and kidneys.

An example are extreme bodybuilders, they are lean but their weight puts the same stress on these organs of an out of shape person of the same weight.

Also things like your back, hips, and knees will have similar wear and tear at larger mass.

Like you indicated everyone is an individual and has their own body make-up. So metabolism, fat distribution, hormone levels..... etc. are different for everyone. What most people need to do is start with a "basic" plan and then adjust accordingly to their body. As you age things change along the way and you need to adjust what was working. Its not rocket science just a little research, effort and common sense.

If you are an "extreme bodybuilder" as you call them you don't need to worry about testosterone levels and getting man boobs because there is no way naturally to get that big and massive. You are already on the juice. Its not healthy for a lot of bodily function to be that large.

What the average person needs to control is visceral fat or fat around the organs.
