Yeah I get a lot of people are just flipping for 10 bucks a can, which really sucks. I've only managed to find one person to do a $4$ can trade and I only got 2 stouts from them.

I think we are going to go to their festival in October, but even then, I think we'd have to go a day early since they do releases on Friday.

I live within 10 miles of 450 N. Their release schedule just doesn't work for me. I have a day job, no time to stand in line on Friday mornings. And slushies that everyone seems to want aren't my thing, and are sold out on release day.

I imagine they do it because it would be an even bigger shitshow on saturdays.

It makes it tough for people like me who might buy a 4 pack every release. But they aren't dumb, I'm not their target clientel. It's the same group of people there every other week buying their full allotment. They've found a way to broaden their distribution footprint through the brown market. It's the Tree House model, if you will.

It's ok, I'm happy enjoying their IPAs on draft with a pizza with the family, and not spending $18-22 per 4 pack hoping that they'll be good.

I'd like to think it's called the "brown market" because it's kinda shitty.

    Haha.

Don't get me wrong. I'm happy 450N has found a model that works to allow them to keep producing new beers and expanding. I rarely miss their IPAs on draft. They certainly wouldn't be able to release the number of beers they release based on locals like me alone.

If they could distribute the Slushies I guarantee they would sell well. But they aren't currently what we call "shelf stable". So that kinda poses a problem.

Is it possible to find a current list of to go beers? My brother is driving from Lexington back here to Chicago tomorrow. If nothing really is there he won't be my 450N mule

Sitting at 450N. Really enjoying an Outbreak of Evil (colab with Electric Brewing). Its thick, creamy, super-sweet fading into bitterness. These guys must have stock in lactose.

Anyway, chairs already in line for tomorrow's release at 7pm. It's quite simply... ridiculous.

If it's "Electric" it's sweet. Most of their haze is that way which I think is good, but can throw some guys off a bit.

Lol people are fucking crazy. This much effort to flip the beer for double cost.

I traded a couple hop butchers for their french toast. it was just average. It tasted like french toast, but there are so many adjunct bomb stouts these days that it really isn't special and definitely not the 10 bucks per can people are paying for it in secondary.

I've had 3 or 4 of their stouts now, and they've all been shitty. Thin and artificial. Their IPA's are fine, but chances are you can find something of equal or better quality local to you. Slushies are very good, I'll give them that, but nowhere near the value they trade/sell for.

And here in Ohio, Urban Artifact does fruited stuff just as good as 450 does, just without the hype.

450 has popped up in a few upcoming beerfest/anniversary parties in the upcoming future.

Since I can't justify making a fun chill day out of releases anymore, I'm going to get my tastes at events and call it a beer day with them

I'm glad they're my local brewery. I enjoy their IPAs. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to get their beers if they weren't my local brewery.

Given their regular Friday releases, are there ever cans available on Saturday or Sunday? Driving through that way in a few weeks and wondering if they'll have anything available when they open on Saturday morning.
