Regardless of my rankings in the pdubs thread, I came across some Energetic Mind today. It’s my first exposure to the Phase Three beers. I have to say that I didn’t find anything green about the beers. I found a great mouthfeel, a tropical nose and a subtle sweet flavor with zero bite or burn. It looked great with perfect carbonation and head.

On a personal downside I may be getting to the point where picking up on that ‘lactose like’ sweetness is becoming a bit of a deterrent to me. I put it in quotes because I have no idea if they put lactose in their beer, but I am finding that I just don’t care for the overly sweet NEIPA style. I like a little bite or burn. This beer was perfectly smooth and palatable but left me wanting more.

completely agree - my favorite versions of the style always tend to lean slightly towards the more crisp/dry side, as opposed to thick/sweet... a bit of bite/bitterness sure helps balance things out a bit.

No, Printers Row Wine. I'm sure it's something that a lot of small liquor stores have to deal with.

This is where I'm at as well, and it's one of the main reasons I've slowed in purchasing new NE stuff. A lot of it recently has been very "samey" for me, to the point where I was surprised over the weekend by how much I enjoyed a new hazy beer.

On topic, was this P3 release significantly easier to grab than the first couple? I moseyed over to Bitter Pops at around 5 on Friday, and was surprised to see multiple cases of EM sitting around (guy said they'd gotten a bunch). I didn't grab any, but it was nice to see; the last couple have required a response time of an hour or less (maybe even quicker) to get anything P3-related.

I believe P3 said they doubled this batch to give more people a shot at grabbing some

They dropped the same amount of beer, just only did one beer instead of two this time. I think that makes it sell out a little slower if anything, or if they gave every retail outlet the same amount of beer it allowed them to distribute to more retailers (probably the latter).

FWIW, the store I frequent received the same amount as normal. So instead of them receiving twice as much of one variant, they received just half as much as their normal delivery.

This was supposed to enable Phase Three to distribute to more locations.

Yeh that’s what I meant by the latter part. Either way, I don’t think this nets phase 3 more or less $$$

More accounts without the ability to produce more beer for those accounts probably just ends up causing discontentment with some of those accounts. I would have thought the better decision was increased cases for the original accounts, and if they turned them down, spread them to new accounts.

Their Pilsner release is going to be fascinating. Will it sell like a Pilsner or a hazy ipa? Where in between?

Yeah, that's definitely a way to look at it. Don't know if I agree (don't know if I don't), but as I said, my main point was a response that I don't think it nets them more $$.

It’ll sell just like a HB non-hazy. Very slowly but the name will make sure it sells.

Villa pils 4-packs were almost always readily available when Shaun was at More. Shouldn’t be a problem at all to get your hands on The P3 version.

They also brewed it a lot (relatively).

You very well may be right. Good test of distro vs own premise for selling a non-sought after style

Conspiracy theorists: They must be trolling MoRE!!! It's the same as their new beer except no mosaic.
