Pliny is all over. I had it at Stoddards and Tip Tap room. Also saw it at the Merchant. As for heady, it was at the night shift beer garden on the esplanade.

Heady on tap is a pretty big deal, especially in MA

I’ve only seen it on tap at a few places here and there in VT. Good stuff

It was Heady and Focal cans at the Night Shift spot, not draft. Pliny has been on draft in a bunch of places.

Kenny’s Kolsch is a very nice beer. 4.4% ABV but full of flavor. It’s definitely a Kolsch but, since we’re talking Alchemist, we’re talking hops. Worth getting. Wish I bought more.

Plan to visit the brewery next week. How early should I plan to arrive to make sure they don't run out of any cans? Thanks!

We showed up Wednesday afternoon and there were 5 cars in the lot and nothing out.

They DO NOT run out of cans. You DO NOT need to get there early. You can go at any time they are open and you are assured of leaving with more beer than you can carry. Even when it’s busy, it’s not that busy. You can relax. If you are looking for stress, long lines and long waits, go to Treehouse.

"Stress, long lines and long waits" sounds like my Disney World experience (plus the bad food). Sounds rad.

High quality beer, produced in ample quantities and priced at 12.50 a 4 pk. Twelve f'n fifty. Alchemist are clearly doing something wrong. I just wish I was close enough to the brewery so I could voice my displeasure toward them in person. And I would do this week in and week out without fail, after first placing my purchase securely in my car each time.

Well then you’ll love Treehouse. “The Treehouse Experience,” like Disney, is unforgettable.

But the Alchemist is a walk in, walk out kind of deal. It is about as stress free an experience as I’ve ever had buying beer, and that includes buying beer at my local liquor store or, as we call it in MA, the package store. Most of us massholes call it “going to the packie” or “making a packie run.” We are actually much dumber, me included, than the rest of the country believes.

But the last time I bought beer at my local strip-mall booze shop I think I waited longer than my last time at the Alchemist. Just go there. You have nothing to worry about. Enjoy your trip.

Jim Conroy comes in around the 20 minute mark, if anyone is interested: BA Program and the bottle conditioned goods are starting to come along nicely

…little bit of love in there for von Trapp too

$14 Focal can at Gillette. Who profits the most from this? Alchemist, Night Shift or Gillette?

Typically the final tier retailer/bar makes the most gross profit but each hand has different costs.

Isn't that a relative steal? Alchemist costs like $3.50/can at the brewery so that's only a 400% markup. Compare it to whatever AAL Gillette sells for $10 (and surely would cost < $2.50 at the store).

I was there Tuesday afternoon in the pouring rain. I was in and out with 2 cases in less than 10 minutes.

I'm gonna be in the area towards the end of next week and I'm trying to find any info on their July 4 holiday hours. Anybody know if they are open end of next week/next weekend?

Also do they pretty much always have Heady Topper and Focal Banger in stock these days? or should I make sure to look before heading over there?

Strolled into the brewery around 3 yesterday and picked up a mixed case (Heady and Focal are running low on a daily basis this month), including a couple four packs of Rapture. Small crowd, super chill vibe as usual. Smelled like heaven.

Headed to the place we’re staying, opened a can of Rapture while unpacking, finished the can, stopped unpacking and drove back to the brewery for a couple more four packs of Rapture. So good!

My palate is pretty finicky these days, especially when it comes to hops, but, hot damn, this beer is awesome. All hail to The Alchemist - king of IPAs.
