Good day BAs! Looks like a semi-dry weekend ahead - guess I'll remove the pontoons from my lawnmower this afternoon and shear my marsh, carefully dodging the ducks and frogs. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

A decent helles bock with an extremely well-done label - we should have the ability to rate label design as part of the scoring algorithm.

    Have a nice Saturday BA.

Fantastic RIS as expected. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of vanilla, licorice, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, peppercorn, pine, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, grassy, peppery hops; and roast, charred, coffee bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready malts; some sticky hops and chalky char/roast in the mouthfeel. Light lingering resins. Lightly increasing lingering hop/char bitter dryness; no cloying, acrid, astringency. Smooth sipping, mild increasing warmth of 10.6%. Nicely soft, not overly bitter/charred. Fantastic balance of rich malts and fruity/nutty coffee complexity; with balancing earthy hops, and restrained fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Spot on style example. Got a full 6 pack a couple days ago before they were all gone.

Amazing as usual this year. Aromas and flavors of huge juicy/lightly tart/tangy strawberries, tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, lemon zest, orange peel, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit, white bread dough, light honey malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, grassy, citrus peel bitterness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very smooth and creamy/bready/grainy wheat/oat mouthfeel; light sticky hops and acidity. Slightly increasing lingering bitter/tart dryness. Amazing soft spot on mouthfeel for the style. Super drinkable for 6.8%. Super juicy/lightly dank hops with awesome balance of strawberry flavorings. Perfect wheat/oat/malt balance, and not overly sweet/heavy for the style. Can't say I prefer it over the base beer. Equally amazing spot on NEIPA. Hope they package some other variations eventually. Base M-43 is my top most purchased beer right now.

I agree wholeheartedly! Before my days on BA I used to buy beer solely based on can art and my wife still selects beers for me that way. “I bought this one because it has a puppy on the label, it’s so cute.”

Excellent IPA as usual. Glad they went to cans(year round). Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bread dough malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Some resins/rinds, increasing dryness, no hop astringency. Pretty refreshing for an IPA. Really great balanced dank/earthy/piney and citrus/tropical hop vibrancy; with a nice malt backbone, and minimal residual sweetness from lingering crisp drying. Feels a bit more dank and resinous than I remember in bottles, but it's fine by me. Azacca, Mosaic, Citra, Warrior, Simcoe, & Calypso hops. Will definitely keep buying it.

Outstanding stuff. Waited a whole year for this to become rotating. Did not see it last year. Aromas and flavors of huge juicy, lightly tart/tangy pineapples, coconut, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red apple yeast; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light honeyed malts; light clove, peppercorn, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal, floral, grassy bitterness; peppery yeast spiciness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Very creamy/grainy wheat; some sticky hops, and fruit tang/acids in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic/tangy dryness; no cloying/pucker. Super smooth/soft/refreshing, no warmth of 5.5%. Amazing balance of juicy/jammy fruit and American wheat yeast complexity; with a great balanced pale/wheat malt backbone. Mild earthy hops. Minimal residual sweetness from crisp acidic fruit dryness. Another perfect beer for summer. Amazing for the style.

Yesterday's nightcap, actually. I try to limit myself to only a couple a day, so starting in the morning isn't an option.

Amazing as usual this year. Aromas and flavors of huge mango, honeydew melon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate honey, white bread dough, spicy rye malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hops earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied with balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts and sticky/resin/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin/rind dryness, no hop astringency. Minimal warming ABV, dangerously smooth. Insane dankness across the board. This is basically just imperial Born Yesterday IMO, very similar if not the same hops. Ekuanot, Galaxy, Simcoe, and Mosaic was the first batch, probably similar here. This has all of the same dankness at a much higher ABV, while remaining well attenuated and not overly sweet for over 11.7%. Mosaic and Ekuanot are my favorite hops. Got 2 packs immediately. Might even get a third if they keep hanging around.
