Half Acre (2019)

I may bite the bullet just to try something new. $20/4pk still gives me pause. I know I'll see Bodem right next to it and tell myself I can get two for the same price.

 

Small amount showed up here today. I passed as I needed to catch up on BHA still and I got all this Weldwerks in my fridge. Life is hard right now.

 

Almost pulled the trigger on Rumble Grumble today, but then decided to just grab another BHA. I’ve decided there’s no reason to buy another DIPA right now as long as that’s on the shelf fresh, especially compared to a $20 four pack.

 

I’m with ya, but my need to drink everything half acre made me buy it. And just so you know, it’s fantastic. Probably the best hazy looking beer they’ve made. it’s dense dense orange juice with some more acidic fruits playing around over that

 

That’s encouraging. For me, Half Acre’s Alive in its Jaws was tops when it came to NE style type of beer. If it’s on par with that, I might have to grab some.

 

Is Rumble Grumble available at Balmoral to-go, or is it exclusively for sale at Binny's? I'm too lazy to search this thread for the answer

This Rumble Grumble is insanely tropical & fruity. Crazy stuff.

 

Finally made it to Half Acre to try this. I'd say it was the best thing I've drank in quite some time. The layers of complex funk were mesmerizing, while still not overpowering the grapes. Loved it.

 

Anyone know if Rumble is still at Grand? I'm thinking of swinging by after work since you all are inspiring FOMO in me.

 

If they do and you want to split a 4 pack let me know. Will happily meet you over at Wells and Monroe tomorrow.

 

Hell yeah, I like the move to 12 oz. cans, and I love that Fader is cheaper this year.

 

I do not like that it is taproom only this year. Harrumph.

While I try to work on an evil plan to get to Chicago (read: Half Acre) in August for you-know-what, I can at least report good news that they are now easier to find in Colorado. Beer Hates... Galactic Double Daisy, and Bodem all found their way here (and to my fridge) in the last drop. Such good shit.

Good news: Fader is still available via draft, at least as of my visit yesterday.

Bad news: Fader in cans is sold out at BOTH locations as of yesterday. As I told the bartender yesterday, I better get off my ass next year on release day.

Very good news: Will add my rating for Loss of Light, a vanilla bourbon aged imperial stout now available at the Balmoral tap room. This is my highest rated Half Acre beer, thin mouth feel good for summer, great vanilla bourbon and fudge taste.

 

Damn, I didn't think I'd need to jump on Fader that quickly. I'm having a decent amount of trouble this year getting a feel for what HA is and isn't making a lot of; it feels different than years past.

 

Wasnt Fader everywhere and overpriced last year or was that the year before?
