It was at 9.99 at the store I shop at. A dollar difference between stores isn’t a big deal. The hype price comment was meant to be tongue and cheek.

I believe humor was banned in this thread from day 1.

Tried one yet? I'm curious to know other opinions, as although I'm not a huge pilsner connoisseur, I do enjoy consuming them.

It was $8.99 at Binnys. Most pilsner 4 packs run $9.99 or $10.99.

Fader was either 12.99 or 13.99, I believe; I remember because people complained about the price point.

Man if they can consistently put out a good pilsner at $10 I'd be more interested in that than their IPAs.

Yeah, I kind of recalled this being $12 or $13 + tax too when I bought it...maybe last summer?

HA and PW have their apologists just like everyone else.

$20 ipa's and $13 pilsners is egregious pricing for a local market offering.

Aren’t there a lot of markets that have $20 IPAs from their local breweries? I’m thinking of places like Monkish, Modern Times, Other Half, just to name a few. I’m not factoring in whether each of us thinks those are better/worse than HA/PW, just that the price point isn’t that crazy compared to others.

I mean, Half Acre has Bodem for $10, so if they think their pilsner should cost $13 I tend to assume there's some reason (it doesn't hurt that I really, really like Fader as a hoppy pilsner).

And like @croush said, I'm pretty sure $20 4-packs aren't exclusive to the Chicagoland area; when HA first hit that mark, the response was "oh, the big NE guys do that stuff all the time" (I think Trillium does, for example).

Trillium is no stranger to $20-22/4pack DIPAs, so it doesn’t seem that out of line.

Things have gotten more expensive and will continue to moving forward.

These pricing discussions are great! Strange that it's in the P3 thread since I've found their price points to be at the low end for their hype-tier, but I'll roll with it... so how does everyone feel about those $7-8, 12oz (or less!) draft pours where packaging/labor is much cheaper for the brewery and you have to pay (tip) for someone to pull the handle?

Dovetail Helles at $9.99 sets the market for me but I wouldn’t mind trying a P3 can that’s slightly higher.

Hop Butcher and P3 have had lower pricing than a lot of own premise breweries have for their haze...

The Pils is pretty solid; just what I was looking for.

It's been selling really quickly, though, so I have to imagine some hazy bois have been pretty sad when they've gotten home and popped a can open.

p3 is well made. It’s very clean.

If someone was looking to try a new Pilsner and asked about P3, I’d say yes. It won’t feel like a waste of money.

I don’t think it’s something that lager heads should seek out unless for pure curiosity, but if a beer like this gets haze fans to appreciate or rediscover lagers, then I’m happy.

It’s a soft Pilsner. The water feels heavily treated. Very soft, the malt and hops are both mild and balanced...actually restrained compared to most of the Chicago Pilsners today. I actually can’t think of another lager like it in our market. It’s softness almost makes it seems somewhere helles and pils. I think it’s the kind of Pilsner than Sean’s fan base might love and one that the lager fanatics wouldn’t bash even if it wasn’t their cup of tea.

I was surprised by this. I stopped by my normal spot after work figuring their afternoon delivery would still be there, but no dice.

Slightly off-topic, but Fader is $9.99 in 6-packs of 12 oz cans this year, so it seems like everyone is getting on board with affordable pricing (which is great).
Yeah, I didn't think it would sell like this either. Hopefully that was a one-off.

Ended up randomly finding a four pack of pilsner so it is sitting around a bit at least.

Loved the price point and as you mentioned, love the Fader price point too. Glad this price point is catching on.
