Pretty much this. It's good, but not something I'd reach for regularly. Would much rather have PW Premium, Fader, or Dovetail.

There are some craft drinkers that shop at the Beer Cellar or Open Bottle, etc who don’t do BA or even Instagram/Untappd. Even so, they’re vaguely aware of Phase 3 from sellout signs and conversations. So I think they finally see it randomly with their own eyes and figure why not. I think that’s a little of it anyways

I actually think beardown's post a few posts up nailed my thoughts on it as well. It's unique for a pilsner and it's certainly good but not exactly what I look for in the style. I did crush all four cans in a few hour span so it's certainly drinkable and tasty. There's just nothing super... distinctive about it. Solid beer though.

The P3 Pils was an OK Pilsner offering ($9.98 four 16 oz cans plus tax).

Half Acre's Pony and Revolution's Pilsners are much better local Pilsner offerings.

Haven't had a Fader pour, will try to pick up a few this week.

Keep in mind that if Fader is like it was last year, it's pretty hop-forward. I forget who I had a discussion with about this last year (maybe @THANAT0PSIS ) but the gist was that people looking for a really traditional German-style beer wouldn't love it. I certainly think P3 Pils is more restrained.

If anyone in the western suburbs is looking for the recent glass, probably 10-12 of them at Binny’s St Charles as of 12:30.

I assume they lasted all weekend? Don’t know when they were delivered. They are with the rest of the glassware up front.

What, you find it hard not to get confused when we talk about the same NE IPA guys in every single thread?

Not sure if this was posted but there are 2 new beers on Untappd: Discipline for Passion (Southern Passion & Citra) and Chain Link and Concrete (Sabro & Citra). Both appear to be using their regular graphic design for labels so P3 was an exception and not a change.

I actually kind of like this. I find the IPA designs a little samey, but they're elegant enough, and the Pils can is just totally different, so it's extremely easy to tell what style of beer they're offering. I hope they continue to do this as they expand to other styles (technically Curvature is an example as well, but obviously not of can art).

It’s good. There’s something on the finish that may be related to the hop I have no experience with. Will have to see how it evolves over time but I like it

Perhaps the distant stain of Apartheid on the Southern Passion hops?

    I wouldn't call 1994 "distant."
