This is my most favorite post ever. I don't love all of carton's beers, but I will always try every single one and this is why. Everything they do is thoughtful. As a consumer I appreciate that.

    BTW, Hickory wood FTW.

Anyone else have the enigma hook? I know augies feelings on ddh hazies but this probably the closest to that style carton beer I’ve had. Certainly didn’t drink like 20 Ibus. a ton of hop aroma/ flavor

Is Monkey Chased the Weasel "milder" than years past? It looks different (usuallybhad a bit different hue, this year it looks like a regular beer) and is much less tart from what I remember.

Is enigma hook the Turn up the Hook one? liked the Hook better than Turn Up the Hook. The latter was kind of a mess.

Might this be a product of them "scaling up?"

I had it. Hard to decide if I really liked it. Very thick and hazy and did have a ton of aroma and flavor but maybe it just wasn’t my favorite flavor.

I’ve always thought monkey has looked like a normal beer (I’m guessing you mean not too much color from the mulberry when you say this).

I never put much in what I think a beer tasted like a year ago. Taste changes, what you ate or drank before it, if it “looks” different we taste with our eyes too, etc. Enjoy every beer for what it is. Sorry I guess I’m in a deep pensive mood this morning. Cheers.

fun part about sours is the measurements. final gravity, abv, and PH readings mark exact proponents of tartness. it's all the same numbers as every year prior. maybe you have had a palate shift? been drinking a lot of funky stuff?

Yeah I figure my tastes have changed just wondering if anyone else was feeling the same way. Still bought a case, and will probably regret not buying more, as I regret every year

It is a PERFECT day drinking summer beer. Nice change of pace from boat. When we BBQ my mixed six that I will drink from noon to 5ish is 2 boat, 2 sneak box, 1 monkey and 1 allagash white or some other wheat beer.

    Or just all Boat.

Been a while but it's good. I don't know how much of my enjoyment was from it just being good (which it is) or just being impressed that a clam beer was good, but either way it was good.

Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t the original Digger made with clams, not just shells? Still sounds nice and refreshing though.

same beer, same process, it's really all about the shells when you boil for an hour...
just as a heads up this is wicked small crusher beer for july august, it isn't clam-y, those of you that wanted to see canoe back this summer should beer covered by this one, unless you're vegan
