2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs BIF

Box #1 showed up today courtesy of @st9647v3 and it’s a doozy. So many new to me breweries and new to me beers!

• Bolero Snort • Bull Pop • Cherry, Lime, Raspberry Berliner Style Weisse - This one I had back in it’s bomber days years ago. Looking forward to revisiting.
• Brix City Brewing • Crumbled Cities • American Pale Ale - I’ve had quite a few Brix City beers when I lived in NJ and I’m excited to see what they’re up to with all that are in this box.
• Czig Meister Brewing • Deep Sea Series: Luminescence • India Pale Ale - I never got an opportunity to visit this place before moving from NJ. Very cool getting this one and the other listed below.
• Abomination Brewing Company • Wandering Into The Fog: Citra • Double IPA - A completely new to me brewery.

Bottom Row Left to Right

• Bolero Snort • Snickermoodle • Porter with Cinnamon and Madagascar Vanilla Beans - The only other beer out of this huge box I’ve had. Certainly enjoyed this years ago when I had.
• Lost Tavern Brewing • Martin • Double IPA with Lactose - Another completely new to me brewery.
• Brix City Brewing + Imprint Beer Co. • Triple Swirl • Double IPA with fruit purée, Lactose, Simcoe and Mosaic hops.
• Brix City Brewing • Ill Street Blues • Double India Pale Ale
• Czig Meister Brewing • 3rd Anniversary Imperial New England Style India Pale Ale.
• Pipeworks Brewing Co. • Velocity of Light • DDH Oat India Pale Ale - Pupeworks always seems to be solid and haven’t had this one yet!
• Nightmare Brewing • Exposure • Imperial India Pale Ale with Cryo Mosaic and Cryo Citra - Another completely new to me brewery.

• Alewerks Brewing Co. • Pancake House Stout • Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout brewed with maple syrup, oats, coffee, cocoa & vanilla beans & aged on bacon - A new brewery for me.
• The Veil Brewing Co. • We Ded Mon3 • “Triple” IPA triple dry hopped with Citra
• The Answer Brewpub • Corporate Conference Room • IPA with Cascade, Enigma, Columbus and Citra hops

I have some serious work to do with the these two boxes already received and two more coming later in the week.

This last box is ridiculous.

I grew up in St. Louis and Bud was king. I moved away in the late 90’s and it was pretty much AB, Schlafly and Boulevard Raspberry Wheat was claimed as local. Things are really changing in that “boring” city. @SaucerfulOfSecrets went way over the top:

• Narrow Gauge Brewing • Raspise • Sour IPA brewed with Lactose sugar and aged on raspberries and vanilla beans - Date Stamp: Big Rig #7 - Legend status even if it is a 1 and done for him in St. Louis.
• Narrow Gauge Brewing • Peach OJ Run • Imperial IPA with 126 lbs of peaches added during fermentation and dry hopped with Citra, Galaxy, and Amarillo - Date Stamp: Play Gloria! (Just when that song has seemed to have left my head...). Geekery: funny seeing a beer with OJ Run in its named canned on the 25th anniversary of the famous OJ Simpson chase. Run, OJ, run!
• Narrow Gauge Brewing • King Cloud City (blocked in the back on this pic)• DDH Cloud City on steroids! This imperial IPA was double dry hopped with Citra, Galaxy, El Dorado, and Mosaic - Date Stamp: hard to make out but it appears to be a reference to O’Reilly’s Conn Smythe Award.
• Narrow Gauge Brewing • Double Dry Hopped Cloud City • Cloud City with an additional dry hop of Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, and El Dorado - Date Stamp: Stanley Cup!!!

• Side Project • Saison du Fermier Blend #3 - this box is ridiculous

• Narrow Gauge Brewing • Vanil Kofe • Imperial Stout aged on coffee and vanilla beans
• Perennial Artisan Ales + 2nd Shift Brewing • Intentionally Indulgent • Tiramisu-Inspired Imperial Stout fermented on top of luscious chocolate sauce and steeped on cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, and Sump Columbian coffee beans - seriously, this box is ridiculous.
• 2nd Shift Brewing + Perennial Artisan Ales • Mládek • Imperial Stout is blended with cinnamon & vanilla
• 2nd Shift Brewing + Narrow Gauge Brewing + Main & Mill Brewing • Imperial Stout aged on cocoa nibs & Blueprint Coffee San Pedro Next beans
• Side Project Brewing • Blanc de Blancs (blend #2) • Blanc de Blancs started as a Biere de Champagne malt bill that was fermented in Chardonnay barrels with Missouri grown Chardonnel grapes. The native Missouri microflora that was present on the grapes provide the sour depth and funky complexity of this wild ale . - seriously, this box! Bonkers.

And in the middle of it all: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch Enterprise (it’s Kiel Center, dammit!) Center Edition. Love the game by game front page images.
