Grabbed a fresh 4 pack of Galaxy Dry Hop Psuedo Sue yesterday...damn good. Citrus-forward as hell.

EDIT: nice to actually see some fresh stuff from them again!

Got mine at 8:12am. Trying to decide if it's worth the drive up there. Usually Pulpit releases some good shit on the TG release days which makes it worth the trip.

I'll be heading to Decorah for Mornin' Delight batch 6 release.

For those that didn't go to last year's Mornin' Delight release, it's a pretty fun all-day fest. They basically close off their parking lot and some of their grounds area, and people even without tickets for bottles can go and enjoy the festivities. They had multiple Term Oil variants, Mornin Delight and some random one off IPAs. There were 2-3 tap stations, 2-3 different food trucks and a band that was playing. There were also plenty of seats around so you didn't have to stand all day. It's a good time if you make a day out of it.

Agreed it was a blast!!...$5/ pour for MD was a bargain I thought....Got there early to hit up Pulpit and then headed over to TG. Had lunch in town and it was probably the most fun I had all last year......If this year is anything like last year, it is well worth the trip. I planned to go even without winning tickets.......

Sounds almost as good as The Big North, which is also that day and is 275 miles closer to my house.

I kid, obviously...hopefully it's a great time again. And even moreso, I hope some MDb6 makes its way on tap to Chicago in the months following the release.

Ha, if I only didn't go to Half Acre every week, I'd be more tempted.

I'm sure Mornin' Delight b6 will make its way to Chicagoland. Last year's batch 5 seemed quite abundant for a period of time. I remember some random bars around the suburbs I'd never heard of having batch 5 on draft.

I think they sent it to six places (I remember one of them saying "we're one of six in Chicagoland to get it), and every place sold out within an hour or so. I went to Harp & Fiddle in Park Ridge for it, and theirs kicked in about 20 minutes.

Awesome that it was a draft option anywhere TBH, but you had to pay attention and be available at the right time to find it. It was worth it for me for that particular beer!

I didn't know it kicked that fast at places. I thought it lasted a bit at LP Binny's but maybe someone that went (@croush ) can confirm if it lasted a bit. The place that came to my mind was a bar in Edison Park (Firewater Saloon?) that seemed like an odd place to have a Mornin' Delight keg.

I think it was pretty busy at LP Binny's, but also don't think it sold out quite that quick. IIRC, I could've gotten another pour if I wanted to, but still think it kicked pretty quickly after that would've been possible.

Is bottle sharing allowed at the MD release? First time going this year, would like to be prepared.

Technically, no shares. But that doesn’t stop people from meeting up. Every hotel the night before will have a share and those are usually epic. People share in the parking lots, but those are pretty small.

MD will be on tap throughout town the night before also. I’d suggest getting in the night before and taking in Decorah. Good town, good food.

Has anyone found the Galaxy PseudoSue in the refrigerator section of a Binny's or have they all been stacked at room temperature/floor? Just curious since last weekend I wanted to pick up a 4 pack to drink cold right away, but only regular PseudoSue was kept cold.

I hate this. This is the one thing craft fails at. You can walk into any store selling beer in America and walk out with cold Budweiser or Miller beer, but 90% of the time I buy packaged craft beer from a retail store it is warm and can't be consumed same night of purchase. Given Chicagoland's weather there really is no excuse not to have the whole beer store turned into a walk in cooler. 3 months of the year you have to pay for AC, but the other 9 you just open and close the windows as needed to cool it down.

Agree wholeheartedly (well except for the last part about having walk in cooler conditions for an entire store). But this also why I give kudos to a place like Beer Temple that purposefully built a walk-in cooler to keep hoppy beers and lagers stored appropriately. I guess if I really think about it, the list kind of starts and ends with Beer Temple.
