Hey Guys and Gals. Just a note of thanks for the suggestions. I got back on Saturday after going to in order
    1. Veil Brewery in Richmond on the way up. FANTASTIC
    2. Cambridge Brewing. I had hoped for better choices but only 1 IPA
    3. Trillium in Canton. LOVED it. The personal submarine is stupid good
    4. Lamp lighter. Absolutely love the vibe and solid line up of beers
    5. Bissell Brothers - fantastic. Love the Nuclear whim and mile long fuse. Top 3 beers I had
    6. Oronodo - Good but not memorable
    7. Alagash- Nice stand by but they aren't really known for hoppy beers
    8. Kettlehead in NH? Really enjoyed it
    9. Burlington Beer another very good brewery (does VT had a bad brewery?)
    10. Idletyme Not a fan
    11. Alchemist- what's not to love with 12.50 4 packs. Bought 10 four packs. It lives up to the hype
    12. Hill Farmstead- Doing Alchemist in one day was great, but along with HF I was in heaven. Everything the do is phenomenal. Seriously out in the middle of no where and then BOOM a lot of folks there. The beer was fantastic
    13. Foam- I am relatively new to other VT breweries but these guys are fantastic. I want to go back
    14. Fiddlehead- Cool setup and great beers. Grab a jar of the fiddleheads to go.
    15. Tree house last stop. Got there with 30 minutes to spare and had a wonderful Curiosity 65. I bought 180 dollars worth of beer in stouts and IPAs and am already beating them up.

Glad you hit Kettlehead it's really the only thing in the middle of NH that is a must stop when you are in that area. But you did yourself a big disservice by skipping by River Roost. Sounded like a fun trip. Very jealous I'll do something like this when kiddos are all gone and out of the house someday. I just realized I've been to all but 3 of these places lol

I feel the same way about the CBC comment. God forbid a brewery have a diverse line-up of beers instead of all IPAs!

I always wondered why that Gearys sign is outside of Allagash.

Well you certainly live up to your name.

Why did you go to these breweries if you’re just into IPAs and stouts? Allagash is an all Belgian brewery, and CBC does a wide variety of styles and only a few IPAs, including a great sour program.

The head brewers at Allagash and CBC could probably brew circles around everyone on that list except Shaun at HF in my opinion.

True of course, but other than your name you didn't give anyone a heads up that you were only interested in drinking IPAs and stouts. You could have saved yourself a trip to Allaghash and CBC if people were viewing the recs through that lens.

So you only like hops, you don't like beer. It would have been helpful to know that before giving you advice. You only know about one style of beer. Cambridge Brewing has been winning awards in many styles for 30 years. I wonder who is right?!

Nothing like someone telling a person who just took a trip based around a certain type of beer that they don't like beer.

I like thin crust pizza, but not chicago style. No body would ever consider saying i don't like pizza. Hopefully nobody would tell me that "You only know about one style" of pizza. I know about others, just don't want them.

@HopHeadPaul I definitely mean no disrespect. I like IPAs too, not my favorite style, but people like what they like, that’s cool.

It’s just that your trip recap appeared dismissive of Allagash and CBC simply because they had little to no IPAs.

This would be akin to me going to Tree House as a lager fan saying that my experience wasn’t that great because they only had one Pilsner.

No disrespect taken. I just like deep tasting stouts and hoppy beers more than pilsners or lagers. I definitely appreciate the effort I th takes to make a great lager. I had a fantastic pilsner in Philadelphia at monk's from Russian river. I guess I should have prefaced my initial post with more details. Either way I appreciate the input

Cool, glad you enjoyed your trip, I'm definitely jealous.

Was it STS Pils? That's a good one, it's randomly been on tap here in MA along with the Russian River/Firestone collab "Stivo".

Heading north visit Aslin in Dc. Kane or Carto in Nj, detour thru Brooklyn for other half and Grimm, head north to Middletown for equilibrium and then Sidestep to Suarez south of Albany. Head North thru Saratoga and ease into Vermont from the west. Hit fiddlehead, foam, burlington beer company before alchemist, Lawsons, hf.....

Visit vitamin sea in weymouth Either after trillium fort point or before trillium Canton. Head west to Worcester for Greater Good and then to treehouse .

You can thank me by leaving some fresh Heist beer in my garage fridge,...

peoples' tastes are their taste, dude loves hops. More power to him.

That being said, you're legally obligated to visit Allagash whenever you visit Portland. Even as a hop head, Hoppy Table Beer is awesome. I'm also a huge fan of their House Beer, available only at the brewery. But who doesn't like their coolships?

Sorry to break this news to you, but HTB, which was awesome, was replaced by River Trip, which is also awesome.

Oh I didn't know that, but yes, River Trip is very good. I still prefer their House Beer though. Glad they ditched that dumb 24 bottle rack you needed to buy to buy the beer, which was still in place last time I was up there. So dumb.

I suggest avoiding Allagash..... I am teaching summer school to pay for my coolship habit.
