They haven’t said LZ at 3 yet but I guess we just assume that safely at this point?

I realize I did not elaborate much in my distaste for Sabro, I just don't personally dig the coconut taste in an IPA. Odd, too, because I love coconut.

Chain Link and Concrete is my least favorite P3 IPA that I’ve had fresh. Muddled hops with some
unpleasant bitterness. Maybe it will get better with time...

And of course this is all IMO

The more of this new one I drink the more I hate it. First can was decent and I enjoyed the bitterness. Second can just isn't tasting good to me. On a positive note, it's not overly sweet at all lol

So the theme of this thread seems to be P3 has largely been average overall scaling back to the first can release. Curvature was good but not great. Hype for Shawn's beers definitely resides in the old hennas and what not.

Glad I stopped chasing these P3 releases. No FOMO at all

I heard that there's a bottle of Double Rainbow in one of the Chain Link cans.

I thought Curvature was outstanding. I would also disagree that average is the consensus since Protocol.

Anyways, according to Untappd there’s a new beer on the way at 6% called Aspect Ratio with El Dorado, Simcoe, and Citra.

IMO, most of the NEIPA releases have been average to slightly above average. Additionally, they seem to only have a short window before they fall off completely. The beers were good at More, so I’m fairly confident they will get better at some point. Until then, I’m not purchasing any P3.

I’ve got to assume the public is experiencing some neipa fatigue, so I would encourage p3 to can some different styles moving forward like pipeworks has been canning a new lager or old world style about once every month. The p3 Pilsner I thought was fantastic and would love to see more lagers, etc, rather than the same tasting boozy hop bomb every week (substituting in a different set of hops every week and thus giving the beer a new name just isn’t doing it for me anymore...and I’m not just targeting p3 but all other neipa dominant breweries that do this too)

Passed on the P3 release last night at Binnys. Sick of Sabro and havent been super impressed with these guys.

Was talking to my friend who works there and it sounds like hype has dropped significantly. Stated they arent getting nearly as many walk-ups or calls concerning P3 releases.

Hop Butcher hype has not faded at all apparently.

I agree with the "average" assessment. I'm honestly trying to give them a fair shake and have lucked into maybe half the releases so far, but P3 hasn't won me over to the point where I feel I need to seek it out. I just haven't had anything that I feel stands out enough.

To be fair though, I feel that the bar for "average" NEIPAs in this market has changed quite a lot even in the past year or two.

I've liked the last few releases and that they were much more dialed in but this one was a miss for me. I thought I'd enjoyed Sabro in the past but this one is just so over the top on the dank-y stuff. It's not horrible is about what I can say.

Nah. Curvature is exceptional pastry stout. And I don’t praise the pastry often.

I feel like the biggest problem is that the hazy IPA fad went all through the winter. Now that we want a change up it is 99 degrees and 100% humidity and they basically have to keep coming out with IPA's

Pilsners are fine and all but they aren't going to sell like the IPAs despite the fatigue. Personally I just don't see a big enough variation with a lager. You could give me a lager from 5 different micro breweries and there is very little chance I could distinguish who made what.

it's not fatigue, their DDH offerings are simply mediocre or slightly above average.

just went to maplewood, and nearly every hazy currently on tap is better than the last 3-4 releases from P3. the tryptych drops recently have been better, the galaxy dry hop PS blows them out of the water, and so forth
