Having a Situation in Sector 9 right now.

It's a tasty beer, but way too sweet and for my taste. Dank tropical aroma, heavy on ripe pineapple. It's cloyingly sweet, though. It feels like a bigger beer than 7%. Not a fan.

 

I was presently enlightened with this collaboration with Brouwerji West. I didn’t know what to expect. I never had anything 3 Chiefs. But a lot of BW ipa’s. It’s a hit or miss with BW. Mostly hits. I definitely got tropical notes. Aroma was a tad sweet. And yes it is more on the sweeter side. But I dig that these days. I didn’t think it was overly sweet. I picked up two 4pks knowing I was going to take one to Vegas this weekend to share with friends here. Glad I did. I’ll have 4 cans to open in the next couple of weeks. I’m hoping the tropical sweetness flavor won’t stall. It’s like almost perfect right now. Another week and this may start to drop out? If it doesn’t drop out in a week I may have to seek another 4pk. I’m guessing this is more heavy on the Brouweji West end than 3C? It’s was brewed in San Pedro. No hype here. Just good ol hazy ipa with no adjunct. Brouweji West style.

 

Apologies for responding to a post from months ago. East coast is starved for good BA content at the moment - came across this thread (and the OG one) on a quiet day at work. Both absolute gems. Well done everyone.

Anyway - curious to hear more about this three ingredient beer. Sounds super old school and pretty fucked up. So I’m game to get my hands on some.

For all the complaints about batch size - how big is the brewhouse they're using and how big are the fermentation vessels? Is it split between draft and cans?

I'm neither defending nor attacking, but criticizing batch size without the context of physical limitations is just piling on for the sake of it.

 

Skimming through their IG, their previous can releases, while small, still had double the amount of cases available (usually about 80 cases).

I'm curious if the Tres that they posted in their ig story will make an appearance. Seems like they always have a stout (even if on site only) to help push the IPAs

 

Maybe BA should implement Top Fan badges? Just so the rest of us know.
