Aaaah, a weekend off. Starting it with Lady of the Sunshine by Northern Monk and Wizard Brewing. Not a huge fan of ”sour IPAs”, but this is lovely.

Really enjoying this Friday afternoon thunderstorm ... but my pup is not. He's shaking non-stop, and can't even enjoy his cookie. Guess that means no nap for me .... and I guess that means it's time for another beer.

First time ever having this fresh, which means it's the first time I've ever felt a review was fair.

    Cheers!

Been playing golf off and on for 30 years and never had a hole in one. Came close today, this shot rolled just past the edge of the hole

Black Widow w/ Oreo. I was hesitant to try this as I'm tired of feeling like I should check my sugar after some of these ridiculously sweet dark beers.
Tastes like a nice stout with a hint of Oreo, not sweet at all. Yeah

What's wrong with the IPA, looks like cafe latte?

Hope everyone had a good Friday. Semi busy day, had 2 separate requests from Order Edit saying I was failing pilots; and it wasn't my fault, but other groups. They always blame my group first . Recovered my credit card, but Chase already closed the account so I have to wait for a new one. Oh well. Also my Galaxy S6 is back to life, but somehow factory reset itself:astonished:. Looks like it's a lost cause for data. At least google photos had all my old pics backed up. Yay for the cloud. Google Play saves all your recent apps too, so I got that fixed yesterday. Me and another colleague ducked out of work at 1, the rest of the department is in Downtown DET at a Town Hall meeting all afternoon.

34 month old bottle. This was a fantastic English Barleywine. Solid head retention, light spotty lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge raisin, plum, prune, cherry, fig, date, apricot, red apple, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, spicy rye whiskey, toasted oak, and brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of coconut, licorice, leather, tobacco, peat smoke, peppercorn, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Slight booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Light-moderate herbal, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness; and rye whiskey/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; balanced creamy/bready malts, sticky hops, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter/spicy/tannic drying; no astringency. Dangerously smooth, mild increasing warmth of 13.1%, minimal barrel booze. Fantastic balance between rich malts, fruity yeast, and rye barrel presence/integration; with nice earthy hop presence. Mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Not overly sweet/heavy for the ABV. Very impressive! 4.2

Found this band today. Super similar to Watain.

Tried the Tiramisu Stout by Steam Bell Beer Works in Midlothian VA last weekend. Outstanding. Drove 30 minutes today to grab some more. Didn't even wait for it to chill. You can drink it warm if you like. That good. Gove it a try.
