Toppling Goliath in Chicago (2019)

I did find galaxy pseudo in the cooler at Binny’s Lp (as well as a bunch on the shelf). I grabbed a four pack from the cooler and it wasn’t very cold - I think they had just restocked it from the ones sitting on the floor.

 

I hate how places handle pseudo sue. It HAS to stay refrigerated the ENTIRE time to stay fresh for a month. A month old sue on the floor might as well just stay there

 

I hate how Binnys handles all good beer. Just stacked on the floor at room temp while all the macro trash sits in the coolers.

 

a majority of their customer base is buying that macro trash. its good business to keep it cold. there is way too much hipster shit for their coolers and all the hyped stuff sells out within an hour or two anyway. i feel they have a good amount of craft offerings in their coolers.

 

Hence why places like Beer Temple are probably the betterbetter to spend your $$$ if you're someone who frequents this site.

I think context is always relevant in this type of discussion. Keeping beer fresh and cold is better for it - this is true whether it's Budweiser or Zombie Dust, Heineken or Pseudo Sue. But its importance also tends to be taken way too extreme

They said 'This MAY be the last time we bottle KBBS'. This could be for on-site only. Could be canned. Or could be bottled again. We'll find out at some point. Clark has been known to troll the general neckbeard public on a few occasions.

 

The new Facility's parking lot is huge!!!....people were sharing out there last year(not a ton though)....kinda had a tailgating type atmosphere.....but honestly, if you plan to drink a 12% stout a majority of the day I don't see a need to share anything. I was plenty blitzed with what was offered at TG last year....not to mention it was 90 degrees out.....

 

Surprisingly, tickets still have not sold out.

 

I’d guess they brewed a huge amount this year. I just hope the quality is that of last year’s release.

 

Also the fact that most people buying a 24 pack of light beer are more than likely drinking some of it immediately. People aren’t stopping in before a party to buy 4 packs of an imperial ipa. I have so much beer I can’t remember the last time I bought one cold in store and went home to drink it right away. I put it in the fridge.

Sure are. I'd like people who say that month old IPA isn't good anymore to do a blind taste test between fresh off the line, month old room temp/refrigerated, and 3 month old room temp/refrigerated to see if they can taste the difference and say which one they prefer. I expect the results would be interesting.

 

Supa sumo cans packed on 7/4 have hit

 

Anyone else Supa Sumo cans have the Golden Nugget label underneath?! Grabbed a 4 pack box of Supa Sumo today and the cans clearly were labelled twice with Golden Nugget underneath the Supa Sumo label. Odd.

 

Had a 4 pack of Galaxy PsuedoSue cans on Friday... excellent. Prefer it over 95%+ of NE IPAs pumped out in Chicagoland right now. Galaxy tropical hops were front and center in both aroma and flavor. Really good mouthfeel and plenty of carbonation. I hope this becomes a regular release because I would buy it all the time.
