Neither of those songs were written by Van Halen. So, if you’re going to argue they are overrated you might want to consider using music they wrote to prove your point.

Enjoying a can of this brewed specially for their 8th Anniversary party this past Saturday. 8 hops and 8 malts and it all works magnificently. Congrats to the entire BW family.

    Cheers,

Fruited sour saison. No idea on vintage. This was fantastic. Great dense/creamy head retention, spotty soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge sour/tart/tangy blackberry, black currant, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, peach, plum, cherry, cranberry, apricot, pear, red/green apple, red grape/wine, oak, peppercorn, hay, straw, and grass; with moderate wheat, cracker, bready malts; lighter notes of leathery/musty/lacto funk, red wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, wine tang, and yeast/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/grainy wheat, lactic acid, fruit tang, and wine tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic/tangy/tannic drying; increasing pucker through the glass, but not too overwhelming. Smooth sipping, minimal warming 7.7%. This was a lot more lactic than I expected, and I have a super high tolerance for acidity. Probably one of the 2-3 year old vintages. Fantastic balance between super jammy berries/currants, Brett/Bacteria complexity, and wine barrel presence; with solid pale/wheat malts against acidity. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp acidic/tangy/tannic dryness. Really outstanding stuff. 4.2

I don't dislike Van Halen, I just don't think beyond Eddie's guitar they were all that special. I'm not saying I hate them by any means. It's not like we are talking about Maroon 5 or Imagine Dragons here.

You my friend @jvgoor3786 are wise upon your years. Before Reagan, SS income was not taxable. One can make a case that ones employer matched the employee contribution so I can understand why that should be taxed. But they are taxing the employee contribution. Employee contribution is after taxes so it has already taxed.. Double taxation upon withdrawal..

If I got any of this wrong let me know.

Me. Not bragging but not a problem. It is for many friends and family.

The VH discussion I’ve said this before, I think Dave is one of the greatest frontmen of all time but I’d rather party with Sammy. I like both eras of VH, great songs from both.

Good evening, all! I've been thinking about this dessert beer all day, so I'm skipping dinner and getting right to it: Graeter's Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip Milk Stout, from Braxton Brewing, Covington, KY. Brewed with lactose, cacao nibs, and raspberry puree. It sounds like it'd be a hot mess, but it's really very good. Not overly sweet, with a nice balance of fruit flavor, chocolate, and dark roasted malt. It's also very pretty, with a purplish-tinged light tan head atop a deep brown body with stunning amethyst highlights. This is well executed, and well worth skipping dinner for.

Fair enough. Still not sure that means they are overrated. Not sure you can separate the greatness of Eddie from what is VH. But I get your point.

Finally, something we can completely agree on.

Put that preposition at the end just for you @vabeerguy

The last can of a 4x16 pack of Gold & Grain, Jacks Abbey's latest Kellerbier. The label states "gold lager", I think its based on Post Shift Pilsner, not as hoppy as their American Lagers. Yeasty yet not a yeast bomb.
