Märzens and Oktoberfests are the only reason I accept seasonal creep. If they crept both ways (with fresh beer), I would not complain.

And if earlier Ofests mean earlier SN Celebration, I'm good with that as well.

Are any of these seasonals really "early" anymore? It's been this way for years (maybe longer).

It's more like they're just "on time".

Likewise, I’ve never had a problem with these beers appearing earlier in the summer, it’s how early their season ends on the backend that I dislike. I never feel I got my fill of them by the time they all disappear, which is typically still in autumn unfortunately.

True, the new normal as definitely been established long ago.

I actually just came here to talk about "Oatis, My Man". I'm usually very skeptical of collaborative beers (let's be honest, 8/10 times they they're mediocre or completely suck) but I grabbed a four pack recently and I gotta say, this might be one of the best collaboration beers I've had in recent memory. Wish I grabbed more than one. It has that great traditional helles-style lager feel you get from House Lager but the oats soften the mouthfeel nicely. It kinda reminds me of one those pale "wisen" style festbiers that are just now starting to drop, (just a tad less honey malt sweetness in that regard).

    Really great stuff, Jack's Abby!

I agree. I loved it. I’ve already had half my 4-pack. I may go back and get more. I love Gold & Grain too.

Wish I could find it here. Not gonna lie, I'm a just a little disappointed about the lack of enthusiasm about JA's recent arrival here in NJ (they just started coming here this Spring). My favorite local spot (Roger Wilco) seems to only stock the variety packs and some dated Hoponious cans. I have to go to Total Wine or some other more chain-y franchise to find a little more variety. That's not to fault JA for any of this; it's more or less a reflection of the current market. It seems like some retailers are really cautious about new arrivals. I've only seen it on-tap at one of the popular beer bars I go to.....

Anyway, I'm just really happy they are here at all to begin with. I'm MA born & raised, I've been moaning about not getting Jack's Abby for years. So, in retrospect, I sound like a spoiled prick. I guess should count my blessings, I guess. Cheers.

Just finished off a pack of Oatis, which I enjoyed.

Grabbed a pack of Gold & Grain and Copper Legend. I hadn’t tried previous incarnations of either as far as I can remember. House Lager and Postshift Pils are go-tos for me. Love Jack’s Abby. Great lagers, great value.

Man I’m so glad I saw this post. I’d like it a million times if I could.

Was on a work trip last week when it was hot and we had dinner on the patio. I was jonesing for a lager. The tap list didn’t specify that it was a collab but man this beer was amazing. Refreshing, crisp, paired well with my meal. Couldn’t ask for more.

Got some Copper Legend today, canned on 7/23. My first Oktoberfest purchase of the season. $8.99 for the 6 pack of 16 oz cans. No complaints from me!

That’s interesting you described it as crisp.

Typically a Helles, especially one with oats, would be anything but crisp.

Usually crisp is reserved for German Pilsners, especially Northern German Pils that tend to be drier and hoppier like Jever.

It’s hard to figure out so far what places get what here on NJ. Different stores seem to get different JA beers.

That price is very low, its more than that for a 4-pack in Mass.

    Where did you buy this?

I tried last years release, that's a nice malty Marzen.

Liquor Outlet in Boonton, NJ. They have the entire line of JA beers. For what it's worth, the Kellerbier series are about $10/4-pack.

I bought a 6-pack of 16 oz cans in Boston for $10 (Marty’s Allston). I don’t think it’s being sold in 4-packs. I love the 16 oz 6-packs when the brewery could easily have gotten away with just a 4-pack for the price.

Just spotted a 6x16 pack of cans at a store I don't go to often, $10.29+tax, a little above average for the area. I will drink one tonight and save the rest until October, maybe. Prost.

I do love the sixers of 16ozers. Even tho the 15 pack of 12oz House Lager is the best deal in craft beer, I usually buy the 6/16oz. Something about their beers deserves a full pint.
