Grimm hits NJ stores today!! It makes me think about the good old days when I was the NJ Grimm distributor and you guys all loved it. I haven't posted on here in a long time, but I thought Grimm in NJ is a good reason to do so. I hope everyone is doing well in here.

ah man! flashback to the good ol days. I think rough estimates from the time had you diverting 73% of NYC's supply to NJ when you were at your peak

Will the Park Slope Food Coop ever see a return of can distribution, or just bottles? (Inquiring minds and all that...)

Looks like Tangram wasn't ready for this weekend.

@Grimm - when will you be fully distributed in NC? Meaning cans of your IPAs, etc

We don't distro IPA cans much, for a few reasons.

We devote about 1/3rd of our tank space to producing IPA, another 1/3rd to producing sour beers, and the remaining third to everything else. The IPA sells the fastest, so it doesn't get distributed as far afield. We don't even distribute many IPA cans here in the city, because we take care of our draft accounts first.

Moreover, canned IPA really doesn't taste its best unless it's purchased fresh and cold from the brewery. That's another reason why we keep such a tight hold on our IPA cans. The packaged styles that we distribute are the styles that will develop nicely with age (mainly that means bottles of sours and stouts).

So that's why we don't have any plans to distribute the canned IPA very far or very often. New Jersey may occasionally see a special delivery of IPA cans, but NJ will mainly see the styles that taste amazing even when they aren't brewery-fresh.

(that being said, we have a fully refrigerated distribution path through Remarkable Liquids so we're very confident in the storage conditions of the beer that Jersey will see).

It's really a similar answer to the above -- does the Park Slope Food Coop have a beer fridge nowadays?

Thx and appreciate your transparency with this matter - makes perfect sense! Does not take away my disappointment but totally understand - just have to stick to finding the IPAs on draft:slight_smile:

Went today for an easy and calm brewery experience (it’s always nice between 12 and 2 on a Saturday before the “local” hipsters show up). Tried Sense World and Just Intonation. Sense was well made but just not my cup of tea - not sure what it was but I just wasn’t crazy about it. JI on the other hand was absolutely amazing. I never expect anything less from Grimm when it comes to sours and berliner weisse.

Grabbed 4s of Todays Blanc (having now on the beach - it is absolutely amazing), Hyperfocus Amarillo (will have tonight) and the 2 pilsners (Anthos and Topos).

To make matters even better, I left my house in Long Beach at 11:15 and was home by 2:00 with the 4 oz pours I had. Getting to Grimm is so easy and I’m glad I know all the detours to skip traffic on all the highways.

Love this idea, and am very curious to see what Grimm does at that ABV given their Today's Special series. The recent Blanc version was very tasty (+1'ing @RobNewton's +1 of @BoardwalkBock) and Lambo is fantastic. $18 a four pack seems a bit steep, though.
