I'm going to assume that all or a great majority of California municipalities, due to our urban sprawl infamy, are going to have minimum parking requirements. See below for Torrance's.

Something tells me Monkish didn’t get that memo. Do they fall under manufacturing or the food/beverage section or both because of the tasting room? Seems like both.

I’m no planning bureaucrat but, maybe less emphasis on adding more parking lots to the 91, 110, 405, etc. and more focus on expanding fast public transit that is clean and doesn’t suck.

Probably both. I need to look into that as I'm personally curious about how breweries fall under zoning code.

I think minimum parking requirements are a relic of past planning practices that haven't been adapted to fit contemporary issues. They'll eventually be revised in time, but, perhaps not soon enough. I agree that more emphasis must be paid to improving public transit and, to a certain degree, there are steps already being made in the LA area. Through Measure M, LA Metro has a long range plan that includes expanding their lines for more coverage, improved service, infrastructure updates, etc., but big public works projects like that take a long time to implement. Aside from modifications to the built environment, I think the biggest hurdle is changing attitudes towards car culture and adopting a more multi-modal approach. Folks love their cars and car houses so I'm not holding my breath though.

I don't go to BL often, but I'm here picking up bottles. I ordered a flight with FO, FOMO, and NC. The bartender didn't tell me which was which, and they all vaguely taste similar

If one with chocolate, one with coffee, and one with neither is hard to differentiate...what's it matter? You gettin crunk on pastry stout it all goes to the same place amirite?! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::laughing:

if you cant tell FOMO from the other two then i dont know why you would care about knowing which is which anyways because you have more of a "pallet" than a "palate"

I might be able to NOT say definitively between NC and FO (cuz I suck) but we had FOMO and NC side by side, and FOMO was just coffee heavy both on the taste and the nose.

I think FOMO was the only one of the three I could tell apart... But I'll never know. Was it coffee? Was it just an extra roasty imperial stout? Am I just some noob with a plebian palate? When I have coffee imperial stouts, usually the coffee is super dominant and forward

Two of my friends who work in the industry at two different breweries said the same thing happened to them, so maybe it isn't just me. Anecdotal evidence abounds!

On the point about extra roasty, BW's Onyx needs some distro method in aluminum tubes.

Did anyone go to the bottle pours of Astronautica Exotica? Any thoughts or feedback? I had a friend go and he was not a fan. However, he admitted that it might not be his style. I cannot remember the Tiki from WOL, but there are often some variance in the WOL version to final production anyways.

I know people don't care as much about their IPA's, however, what the heck happened to Ocularity?! These new batches aren't even close to the OG Ocularity. @bottlelogiclindsay

I recently bought some Recursion and it was pretty dark too. It tasted great though. Much better than earlier batches that were lighter.

    Go figure.

Not great. I'm not sure if its a canning issue though. Looking at the recent pictures on untappd and the draft pours have the same dark amber color.

We've been experimenting with base malt adjustments and did a few core brews (Ocularity, Recursion, and 714) with a slightly darker spec than in previous batches. We liked the flavor from the adjusted base but still prefer the lighter SRM overall.

We've since moved on to another base malt that will maintain these desired flavor developments and still showcase a brighter yellow SRM.

Bummer. I definitely don't like the "new" flavor at all. If you're going for the same flavor but lighter color then no more Ocularity for me.

I'm curious why the base malt needed to be changed at all. It WAS my favorite IPA from Bottle Logic.
