I'm very happy that the Wheatwine is back. I totally loved it last year. I'd say the one I'm least interested in, but will consider buying a bottle, if I see it, is the cherry one. I wasn't a huge fan of the Bramble last year, and I have a feeling it will be a similar animal to the Bramble.

All in all, I'm excited about the line up this year.

The Double Barrel Stout looks pricey:grimacing:

I would think there are many more than 100. There is at least 5 just in NJ.

Do all 5 have "great" barrel programs? Either way, for every state that has 5, there could be another that has next to none.

We're not talking about breweries that dabble in aging some extra beer in a couple of vessels here or there.

This has to be a culture they pursue and succeed at, if only modestly, but still.

I really don't see huge numbers of breweries out there going out of their way to do this, and do it well.

Looks very very very pricey! I'm going to guess MSRP of $30 and most will sell it for $45-$50. Personally, I would love to try it but that's getting closer to whisky money for me.

This looks like a cash-grab at loose inventory. I've seen similar things at liquor stores: "we just got in this years bcbs, we also now have have the last 3 years versions available as a collective for sale" lol.

No, it isn't. They did this a while back but because it was 4pks they couldn't package them all together like this. Also, this was something they planned on doing 3 years ago. I remember speaking with a Goose island rep back then. He had mentioned that they wanted to do a vertical box in the future. Here we are.

Just checked the calendar, Thanksgiving is on Thursday November 28th, followed by Black Friday on the 29th.

Yeah should be good. I think I heard it’s aged in wheater barrels this year too.

    In name only.

The deals are starting well before then and continue on even longer.

    Enjoy

I highly doubt the MSRP is only $30. Most BCBS variants last year were $25 for MSRP. 2015 Rare was more than double that.

With the tube/packaging, I could see Goose Island having a MSRP of $40+ for this.

That round tube will push MSRP over $50.

Depends on where you are. We got variants here last year for the first time, and I saw variant pricing from $12 to $22. Most was $20 to $22, but found one store selling them as low as $12 for Wheatwine. Should have bought more of that.

Should have! The Wheatwine was a delicious toffee/Caramel bomb

I still have a bottle left, should have that this weekend.

The beer manager at a local store has a keg of it he's saving for the right time, perhaps when the weather turns cold.

Sorry by most variants I was referring to things like Prop, Reserve, Vanilla and Midnight Orange. Wheatwine and Coffee barleywine were priced much lower.

I live in Chicago so had access to all the variants.

Exactly - it was a pre-planned cash grab. Not some last minute thing. Come on @raynmoon give them a little more respect than that
