To answer you seriously...it tastes almost exactly like Imperial Smells Like Bean Spirit, but with a much better (silky?) mouthfeel.

For context, I think Tugboat is a fairly shitty roaster, and the coffee aspect tastes more like a syrup than a real coffee...and I'd be surprised if this didn't have the exact same maple syrup Mikerphone uses.

On the plus side, the mouthfeel, like every other dark beer I've had that Shaun makes, is decadent, smooth and enjoyable, and the base beer has nice notes of dark chocolate & cream.

I wish they had just released the base beer & left the other stuff out.

    Just one idiot's opinion!

This is spot on. My first thought right out of the gate was ISLBS. The smell, the exact maple taste and coffee.

The big difference and what puts it a notch ahead for me is the mouthfeel. It’s just like all of Shaun’s other stouts/porters. Just perfect for me.

Could smell the maple as soon as the can was opened and agreed also reminded my of ISLBS. Robust roasty coffee and maple very well balanced. Delicious! Creamy and great mouthfeel as others have mentioned. So far Phase Three Curvature Hazelnut and Pressed Maple are awesome stouts/porters. Def looking forward to more.

So I “lucked” into finding Pressed on the shelf today at Fischman’s (my first P3, no desire to try the hazies, so left the other on the shelf). I completely agree with this review. I’ve never gotten into ISLBS because of the weak mouthfeel. And it’s the mouthfeel that makes this one. Maple overpowers the coffee a bit too much for my liking (but maybe it’s the sweet, syrupy coffee notes you mention). But I agree, and I’ve said this about More plenty, I’d love to see more of their non-adjunct stouts/porters, cuz he nails the body.

16 days in, Tropical District is coming together nicely and is a more enjoyable shake than it was day 0 at LZ

This was pretty much my exact impression of Imperial Falling Colors: very similar to ISLBS but smoother. I'm looking forward to trying this one.

But this one (lost in the moment) isn’t a hazy! And I thought it was delicious

Ha, didn’t even pay attention to that, just assumed it was hazy. Oh well, I’ll enjoy a NvU instead.

Liquor store by me still had Lost in the Moment. It’s really really good. But it’s basically Bodem at 1.5x’s the price.

LITM is 9.99 or 10.99 depending on where you’re shopping. Same price as Bodem.

Really? Damn. My receipt wasn't itemized and I assumed it was $14.99ish based on what I bought with it. So its the other thing I bought that I got overcharged on.

So Curvature Neapolitan bottles dropping this coming week?? They're post from the 8th stated "within two weeks", thus this would align. Thoughts?

Think we’re still a week out. They’ve got a mead or something like that dropping this week.

Is that something they did with Standard Mead? They're great.

    Don’t insult Bodem like that.

But seriously. I don’t think it’s a good comparison. It’s more comparable to a ddh version of lexical gap or something along those lines.

I get Bodem vibes. I don't think I've had DDH Lexical Gap. So I dunno. Either way this beer is tasty and apparently appropriately priced.

They both use mosaic, so maybe that’s it.

Bodem is much softer and new school though. I think the p3 beer is more of a west coast classic. Something Stone beer fans could dig.

Weird. I didn't get that at all. I'll have to crack another one soon. I only had the one. It seemed like mostly cold side hops. There was bitterness but nothing on par with an old school West Coast IPA.
